We took my 2014 C7 vert to the drive-in movie last night - it is perfect for that! - and to keep the radio going for the audio feed I used the service mode rather than ACC which shuts off too quickly. About an hour and a half into the second movie i get the Battery Saver Active message on the display. The OM states,
BATTERY SAVER ACTIVE This message displays when the vehicle has detected that the battery voltage is dropping beyond a reasonable point. The battery saver system starts reducing features of the vehicle that may be noticed. At the point that features are disabled, this message displays. Turn off unnecessary accessories to allow the battery to recharge.
I am curious as to which features are disabled in this mode because I didn't notice anything shutting down. I started the car for a while to top off the battery so it didn't get too low, and had run the engine for quite a while between the two movies.
BTW - The new Once Upon A Time In Hollywood movie is ok but kind of disappointing. It ain't no Pulp Fiction, that's for sure. The first feature was a Spiderman movie which seemed to have a cryptic Corvette message in it. It turns out Peter's new girlfriend is called MJ. Scary.
My BMW does this as well. When active, it turns off the keyless entry (one gets in with the key in the fob), and turns off all other circuits which would be active when the car is otherwise sitting.
