Would it be any different than the OEM painted carbon flash stage 2 spoiler as far as the rock chips? Curious if you think that because of what the stage 1 is made out of vs. the stage 2. I actually prefer the look of the stage 1 spoiler and if I did add one, I'd love to paint it carbon flash to match the rest.
I have a set of the fender spats as well that are the same texture that I wanted to also do in the carbon flash. I'm thinking they would need to be sanded smooth and then painted. At least to achieve the look/feel that my OEM full length side skirts have.

You are correct , I sanded the heck out of my splitter and then tried to paint it satin black , it looked terrible as the grain of the plastic , which like I said I sanded the heck out of it still showed through . you need to use a plastic primer to fill the grain , then sand again with 400 and then apply paint …
I was so mad I just wrapped it with Carbon Fiber wrap
I have been unable to find carbn flash wrap. anyone have a source?
thanks
carbon flash is just black metallic, if you are using it on a splitter you dont need an exact match .... as the human eye will never detect a stubble difference
find a shop that does wraps , show them what you are trying to wrap , I am sure they can find something close for you
If you decide to paint it, be sure to sand it smooth first. I didn't think it was that bad and painted mine right out of the box.
Big mistake - ended up pulling it back off and gave it a proper sanding and repainted it.
