The Corvette fan in me is rooting for a successful C8. But, I can't see myself riding around in it. Short nose, long deck just doesn't do it for me. The aggressive front fenders, nice power bulge of the C7 does do it for me.
After spending on a second set of wheels and tires (18”-19” fitment), and an extended warranty, I am not ready to do it all over on a C8, but I will say, I do like the car. I’ve seen it twice in person, sat in one last week at Carlisle. The leg room on the passenger side is insane. I felt like I was falling backward there was so much room. I stopped by Kerbeck’s tent, they had a beautiful ‘19 GS coupe (M7) there for less than I paid for my base ‘16 coupe...I was tempted, but after going over the numbers in my head, I said no.
When you see the C8 in person, it’s hard not to like it. I said many times over, every Corvette is beautiful off the assembly line. I’m happy with my C7, just topped 40k on the clock, looking forward to at least another 40k in the next three years. Now if I get a large piece of cash, I’ll gladly consider a C8 convertible, with all season tires and dry sump oil on base models. And by that time we should have a pretty good data base on maintenance costs and reliability on the C8.
Ok, for the record, I am being facetious. But I just cannot get very excited about the new C8. I know that over on the C8 forum, everybody seems to be having an orgasm over the C8. I really enjoy my C7. I love driving it, and it looks great, and people still mention how nice it looks. I am NOT a C8 hater, but it just doesn't do anything for me. I have NEVER been one that has to run out and get the next new thing. I enjoy what I have, and I intend to keep my C7 for many years to come.

Does anyone else feel this way?
I just got my 19 C7 M7 on Monday...got the order in a few days before the final cutoff. I've had a 78 C3 and 98 C5, all manual. The auto-only on the C8 is a deal-breaker for me. I agree with some of the other comments in this thread...my understanding also is that a mid-engined vehicle is going to be more expensive to maintain & repair. I think the C7 was the ultimate in cool design for a Vette generation, and the C8 is variable depending on what angle you're looking at it from. The front is good...the back end to me looks like a squashed Camaro. Given that I bought my last 2 Vette's @ 6 years of age each, and then kept them for another 15 years...I think I'll be enjoying my C7 for many years yet to come
I'm not a C8 fan-boy but I might trade my '15 Z06 in on a '21 Z06 once the prices drop below about $60k (perhaps in about five or six years) - especially if the C8 ZO6 has more hp than the C7 version does. Until then, I'm going to love what I have and keep the pedal to the metal.
I just saved $80K, +/-, by not having to have to have one (C8.) I couldn't bear to part with my new C7, so I was all set to buy a C8 too. The lack of a MT (Manual Transmission) made the decision for me. The collapsible hardtop without a flat rear deck, sealed the C8's fate as a /FAIL. No way !
L♡ve, my C7 M7 convertible, now and for years to come....
The more I see the C8, the uglier it looks. It just looks bloated with all of the creases and lines... way too busy. Looking at it directly from the front and back are the worst. I'm sure posters will wind up on many walls of 13 yr. olds.
All true. Corvette screwed up badly. No BS.

Truthfully it's an interesting albeit flawed car for me.. I appreciate what they did, but it's not where I would need it to be to go and get one. In a number of years once it's refined we will see.. but .. damn.. I am just having too much fun with my current car to care too much.. so no you're definitely not alone.
I think it looks great. It's what mid-rear engined cars have to look like. (since technically, the C7 is a mid engined-front car... the engine is behind the front axle centerline)
Lack of a manual isn't a problem, since the manual in the C7, while robust, is vague in the 3-4-5 area. Yes the MGW shifter made it a lot better, but it's still not a S2000, or Miata shifter... If you are only going to buy cars with manuals, you are about done buying new sports cars. Unless you like being fleeced by Porsche, manuals are very quickly becoming a dying breed. It's sad, but true. The DCT's and even automatics are simply better, and more fuel efficient.
Granted, the C7 is the first Corvette I even considered buying. (other than a classic C2) the 4,5,6 were good performers, but they weren't very good cars. The interiors were crap, the seats were crap, they were poorly made, fit and finish were horrible. So I'm not really a Corvette guy. The C7 is a really good car. It's relatively well made... I expect the C8 to be better. (And what I saw at Carlisle showed that the C8 is a far better car in terms or materials) So yeah, I'm going to get one. If I don't like it, I'll get something else and move on...
The jury is still out for now. I have seen a few in person and it is definately better than pics. Although I will wait and make my judgement when the Z06 comes as i'm not interested in the base model thats coming soon.
There is a lot I like about it, but I'm the manual transmission type. All my vettes and most of my non daily driver toy's have been manual. I'll wait until the C8 GS comes out, but I'm certainly in no hurry. Might even think about a low mileage used stingray if there definitely never be another new manual transmission option, Currently I have no though of selling my current C7.
