So, last night I was coming back from shooting some pictures and I get a low tire pressure warning. The pressure goes from 20 psi to 12 in the course of about 15 minutes. I'm thinking I must have picked up a nail. Maybe it can be repaired...
I wake up this morning to take it to the tire place first thing. I go outside and air the tire back up for the ride. While it's filling up, I notice my front tire is also punctured with something right near the sidewall. It's losing air... just a lot slower. The reality starts to sink in... I'm going to have to replace all four tires or drive a car with drastically uneven wear on each side (does that actually matter?).
So the tire shop can't get the stock tires until Tuesday so I ended up going with the Sport Cup 2s. I know they wear a lot faster but I seriously wasn't going to park my car on a holiday weekend when I actually have time to drive it. Fortunately, they sold the Sport Cups to me for the same price as the Super Sports. $2400 later, I have my car back. What a start to the weekend.
You are fortunate enough to have a C7, having to buy $2400 worth of tires is a mere bump in the road in
comparison to what ill fortunate you may have met. Enjoy your weekend and your C7.

I got them at a local shop. It's the only place that actually had them in stock.
Sorry to hear that bro...really am. Tire rack has some serious tires available for delivery for half that price. Do you have another car to drive while the vette would be down?
Wow, sorry to hear buddy. A few beers, a nice steak and your weekend will look a lot better. Enjoy the new tires.
Haha, good call.

They were $1976 at Tire Rack for the Super Sports. Then I'd still have to pay for the mounting and balancing which brings it to almost $2,100. Really not a huge difference in price and I would have had to wait until the middle of next week to get them at the earliest.
My only worry is am I going to regret buying the Sport Cup 2s. Are they really likely to be toast after 6K? I don't do a ton of spirited driving and I don't track the car.

Good reason to ditch the stock tires and go with the all seasons one.
