I am considering the purchase of a C7 Corvette. Are there any issues, recalls, or general things I need to be aware of prior to purchase?
I am considering an offer on a 2015 Z06.
The biggest culprits, mind you they are very small % for C7's are as follows:
1. A8 transmission, ~5% failure rate, usually shows itself early on in the car's life
2. Bent wheels, another small %, avoid potholes and track mode on the street
3. 3LT/3LZ bubbling of the leather interior around the dashboard, another small %
These will be your biggest offenders, but again they are a small % and are not common despite what people here will tell you. If the 2015 you look at checks out and is a good price go for it!
The only thing GM has done over the years is modest changes to the internals over the years, AA/carplay in 2016, front camera's, new supercharger lid and cooling for track use etc.
Thank you for the quick response. Has anyone complained of any drivetrain or suspension noise? My friend sold his 2008 Z06, C6, but complained of rearend noise
the whole11 years he owned it. GM had their fix but it did not resolve the noise. Has anyone experienced this in a C7 ?

You can do a specific C7 search here and find LOTS of details about every issue imaginable, if you want more detail. But, remember, as noted, you can NOT take the number of online complaints as representative of the vehicle as a whole, not for any vehicle. Also, you can have a cooperative dealer check the GM service history, as well... if it has one. Get one... ENJOY!
2015 was the first year of the garbage A8 transmission. I have owned a ‘16 and a ‘17 and I can say that the transmission behaved like utter crap on both of my cars. I would not own an early A8 car without a warranty.

There is a rear differential noise known as the “warble” that can plague C7s that do not have the electronic limited slip diff. The Z06 has the ELSD, so it’s irrelevant to you. I would add that GM still has some “fixes” that fail to resolve issues. It remains to be seen if they have the cure for A8’s that have the shudder issue. Hopefully they have, but from what I’ve read here I’d say the jury’s still out, and I would get some extended warranty if that ‘15 in your sights is an A8.
I had a 16 with an A8 and ended up trading it for an M7 bc it was so much to deal with and i didn't want to have that heap without warranty. My suggestion if it's an auto transmission, leave it where its at.
