Default Reading Lamps

2015 stingray . the reading lamps, (on each side of the rear view mirror), are on all the time the engine is running. Pushing the button for on/off do nothing.. Read the manual and found no help.. Anyone experience this or know a fix.. thanks

There is a button on the dash to the left of the steering wheel that controls dash lighting, when turned all the way clockwise, it turns the courtesy lights on.

Step it back a bit counter-clockwise.

EVERY single owner of a C6 (press) or C7 (turn) has done this at least once.

If they don't own up to it, they are lying or very well read.

It is well-hidden behind the the steering wheel. Most folks trigger it while cleaning.

99% of the time the map lights , dome lights, interior lights whatever you want to call them are part of the dimmer switch. For as long as I have been driving if I wanted the interior lights to go on I went right for the dimmer switch and turned it clockwise until it clicked. And if I didn't want them on and somehow they were on I always knew the dimmer switch must be involved. I can't understand car people who don't know this stuff. Is this the first car you ever owned? So no I for one am not owning up to it.
