A damp rag. The leather is coated and leather protectant shouldn’t be used on it.

Ok thanks tried protectant in a small corner on the door and it looked horrible ( black interior) so the last few times I have used a damp rag but was not sure that was a good idea. My first corvete

I have been using Gyeon Leather cleaner on 3LT surfaces. Cleans well, leaves no greasy coat, makes a nice satin sheen better than the original leather. Has a pleasant smell. Apply with a microfiber cloth.

Damp cloth only. I love the leather smell of the 3LT and do not want to dilute the smell with conditioners.

Default Just the Facts

You're not going to believe this so after reading it google it. And you'll find this is absolutely the Tao. Corvettes like most recent cars (not some foreign mfg) have leather seating that is treated with a polymer coating. Dare I say plastic? Not a milk jug, but not aniline leather. This to reduce wear and resist stains. As such, all the high dollar interior treatments will do zip for your seats. A micro fiber cloth that is barely damp is the right thing to use. Fair warning, this approach will do nothing for your ego. Which cries out for something expensive, exotic, likely both.

Easy to find with google:

*This means that the outdated, misinformed opinions regarding car leather care that society still clings to, must be replaced with correct information.

*This also specifically means that virtually all leather found within your car is going to be dyed first with some form of color (dye), then coated with color pigments to create a completely uniform color, and then coated with a clear protective coating. So what you are actually cleaning and conditioning is not natural leather, but natural leather that has been enhanced, re-colored, reconfigured, and coated.

I agree with everything member Papillion has posted. But, having owned 8 Corvettes since 1975, and, now with my second C7 with 3LT, I am crazy nuts for Zaino's Leather In A Bottle. So easy to apply, and, it leaves the interior of my C7's smelling like a new leather glove. For only $11, you really can't go wrong with this product.

Here's what the Owner's Manual says about leather care:

Use a soft microfiber cloth dampened with water to remove dust and loose dirt. For a more thorough cleaning, use a soft microfiber cloth dampened with a mild soap solution.

Do not use cleaners that contain silicone or wax-based products. Cleaners containing these solvents can permanently change the appearance and feel of leather or soft trim and are not recommended.
Most leather cleaners/treatments contain silicone and/or wax and should not be used, no matter how it makes it look or smell, or what you've done in the past.

I use McKee's 37 Interior Surface Protectant. It's a UV blocker and has 0 shine.

I'd be interested to see the interiors of two C7s that experience similar environmental conditions after about 10 years where one just uses water and the other uses protectants.

Unless the C7 uses some sort of new bizarro plastic in their interiors, if both cars have any UV exposure, I'd bet large amounts of money that the interior that used protectant would look a lot better.

All that expensive protectant you are slathering on your seats? Ends up on your pants. And only your pants.

Just another reason to use it. See...it also protects and prolongs the life of your clothing. Just another benefit.

A moist cloth followed by a dry cloth is all I use.

My understanding is that any coating applied to our interiors will let dust and dirt stick to the surface requiring a vicious cycle of cleaning and wiping more often. In my particular experience my interior looks as good as new and all I have ever used is a damp microfiber cloth. A lot of miles on it with open window and top off driving. 110,800.
It wouldn't be the first time I was wrong, but I'll stick with what works for me.

Warm damp cloth and possible put a finish like straight 303 just a UV protectant.. that stuff is so treated it will take 40 years for anything to hurt it or penetrate it
