Default Line Lock

Hello I am new to the corvette and still learning it. I have a 2019 Stingray, M7. I searched and read the manual. So to be sure I want to ask. Does the corvette have a line lock option to do burnouts. Or as I read, we have to do it manually. Also, I read about the launch control option and will try that soon, but is there still problems with blowing the rear end while doing it, or was that fixed. Help is appreciated. I'd rather ask you gurus before messing up the car lol..

Congrats on the new 'vette!
You have discovered that C7s have launch control for both A8 and M7 but it's not a line lock per se. Launch Control is well documented on YouTube and it was discussed at Spring Mountain Corvette Owner's School. It's a matter of personal choice whether to use it or not. I have yet to find a need to use it. One YouTuber believes it may cause a blown rear end and CarGuy11 shows how it blew on the drag strip...

If memory serves, our 19's got stronger rear ends (like ZR1)

I've found the best launching is by simply putting it in tour mode and stabbing the throttle.

I see.. so brakes might lock for like 2 seconds. Best to wait 2 seconds before launching when in that mode. I'll check also about the rear end change. Line lock from the vid, looks Iike I'll have to do it manually. No line lock option. Cool good to know.

The manual p196 indicates that Hill Start Assist is briefly applies the brakes if pointed up an incline, which was the point of the first video. AFAIK there is no way to turn HSA off, so waiting for it to release is a good idea if on an incline...
Of course, giving your competitor a two second head start when using the Launch Control sorta defeats the purpose.

ha yeah lol...guess so. Can't wait to test it out though. Still learning the corvette. Freakin nice car. I have an 18 mustang GT and launch control is different. You can set the RPM you want to launch from. The corvette I read is always at 4500 to 5000 rpm, don't think I can change that. I guess getting the RPM to stabilize is enough time for the rear brakes to release.

Guys that is not 100% correct for HSA or launch control. HSA, per the manual, explains you can simply release the brakes, then clutch & drive off without “waiting” for HSA to release. Otherwise on a STEEP hill you run risk of rolling back into that car/truck that’s always sitting on your *** 😬. Launch Control works by simply holding clutch in, flooring gas, waiting till RPM stabilizes & QUICKLY releasing the clutch. Just a TAD less than DUMPING the clutch. There’s no 2 second delay. You simply engage it by timing the green light on the strip as you would do without using Launch Control.
