I have a 2017 Base Stingray and I'm thinking about adding front/rear sway bars to help eliminate some of the body roll that I noticed while driving the Tail of the Dragon a few weeks ago. There are a lot of manufacturers out there and I'm looking for pros/cons to go with OEM Z51 sway bars or after market. Any and all opinions are welcome...
OP: I put the sway bar package from Cultrag Performance (the package at the time had all the components you need; nuts, bolts, grommets etc.) on my 2015 Base Stingray. The fact that the car came without a rear sway-bar frankly amazed me. I'm not sure if your 17 has a rear bar, but the 15 did not. I think just for that fact that it added a rear bar made a significant difference (at least to the "butt-o-meter") in the stability of the car. Well worth the couple hundred bucks it cost.
I did not have MRC on my 15, it wasn't available on the base model then. I have it on my 19 Z and I like it, but I can't see how sway bar install would affect it? I assume you have it and that's why you are asking. The sway bar mod is a very easy install so if the car feels froggy take them off and return them. One thing I do remember from back when lots of guys were DIY on the bar upgrade the front bar will go in upside down, be careful. One of the guys even had a picture of his upside down install with the car on the ground. He said front end made a heck of a noise when he sat hoist down and the pic showed the nose sitting up pretty high LOL. Good thing he didn't try to drive it.
Good luck - tom
Thanks everyone for the input. My 2017 Stingray does not have the rear sway bar, like "Kenownr" states, Its hard to believe that Chevy put out a high performance car and neglected to put something as simple as sway bars on. I do have MRC on my car and love the ability to adjust ride comfort. I think I will research the Z06 sway bars like the Plumber suggested and make my decision between them and the Z51 bars. Thanks again!
My ride was rock solid and race track harsh after my mod’s. So I replaced the stiff side walled OE run flats with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S’s non run flats 265/35/18 and 305/30/19. Hugh improvement in ride quality, drive ability and looks.
+1 for the Cultrag Z51 sway bars. Huge difference in body roll. Also the base vehicle with no rear sway has terrible understeer at the limits, say with autocross. This is eliminated with the sway bar upgrade. Was thinking about trading the car until the upgrade; very happy now. Maybe not an issue with normal street driving, but a major improvement with autocross.
+1 also for the Pilot 4S's; big improvement over the runflats IMO.
Our sway bars are significantly stronger and more balanced than any factory offering. That being said I have plenty of take off Z51 & Z06 sway bars if you choose to go that route.

Just out of curiosity and if it isn’t too much trouble.
What diameter are the front and rear sway bars off a non mag ride Z51 and what are they for a Z06?
As you probably know they are stamped on the silver rings on the sway bars.

On the Cultrag website...the non MRC rear bar is 28mm while the MRC rear bar is 31mm. Ive been trying to search why the larger bar is needed for having the MRC but have had no luck yet. I am not sure of the sizes of the Z06 bar.
