Default Memory seats intermittent problem

I've seen that some people have trouble setting-up the memory seat positions, but I have successfully set-up both the exit and driving positions. My problem is getting the driving position to activate when starting the car (2018 GS). It occasionally operates correctly, but more frequently, I have to push the position button many times to return to the correct position.

I've checked for obstructions on the seat and seat tracks and found them clear.

Another interresting fact is that the seat always goes to the correct exit position when leaving the car.

Has anyone else encountered this situation (and found a solution)?

You wouldn't, by any chance, have an M7 would you?

Yes, on my 2019 GS. Here's a video to fix this issue:

Thanks, Robby2019!

This looks like the problem I'm having. I'll try this and you won't hear anything else from me (unless it doesn't work)🤞😉

On the 2014's the procedure is a bit different. Push and release the set button first then quickly push the 1, 2, or Exit button until the beep. I believe the procedure was changed for the 2015 model year. Also note so that you understand what is going on is that the reason to have the seat forward a bit from all the way back is that there are sensors behind the carpet behind the seat that prevent the seat from going back forcibly against the panel behind the seat. For some reason, when these sensors are activated, they prevent the automatic adjustment of the seat, mirrors, and steering wheel, though not the manual adjustment (forward) of the seat. So with the seat never all the way back, the auto adjust feature should work every time. Just the other day it didn't work for me until I realized my baseball cap was stuffed behind the seat instead of its usual position next to the seat and the seat was pushing the hat against the sensors.

Good advice. One of the first things I discovered when I got my first C7 in June.

Only problem I ever have with car memories is when I forget to set the E Brake

i have that exact same problem in my 2015 Stingray. My solution was to change the setting to activate my memory position when I first open the door instead of when I start the car. I know it isn’t really a fix, but I’m ok with it.
