I found a used 2014 Black 2lt Automatic with 70k miles on it at a local dealership. Carfax shows it has had 4 owners one rear accident that was minor, less than $500 damage with all maintenance done at Chevy Dealers. Its priced at $28k. It has some accessories like the white rear z06 tail lights, the rear fin, front lower spoiler with side body skirts. The driver seat looks a little rough in the middle lower section. Not sure if any upgrades in the engine compartment as I only got to look at the exterior but going in later to test drive since they were closed yesturday. Body and paint look decent a couple rock chips but really nothing to major. Tires look like they need to be replaced and not sure the brake pad life but I can do a brake job with ease. This will be my 1st vette purchase but dont want to impulse buy just because of this. Anything I should think about or look at before even entertaining this purchase. My initial budget was 30-36k and really wanted a lower mileaged 2016 2lt z51 manual at that price range but having a hard time finding one that doesnt have high miles or been a salvage or wreck repaired. Any thoughts? Most have said to wait until the right one comes along and don't settle which is probably the best advice.

Price doesn't seem bad, but I agree with this strategy.
There was a younger kid in before me that was trading in his 5.0 mustang on it but didnt think he would get the financing. Just got a text from the dealership saying the kid got the financing. So it was sold even before I made the offer.. oh well, wasnt ment to be...

I like your philosophy bro dont know how long you've waited however it'll come eventually and better.
You wanted a 2016 2lt, you wanted a manual you wanted lower mileage and all of this for under 30K.
This 2014 was " NONE " of the things you wanted.... yet you want someone to talk you into it????? Talk about impulse buying. this car has had 4 owners, been in an accident has high miles and is the wrong transmission. The " Kid " did you a Favor.
Dont settle on all the wrong stuff because that's all you can afford I would be ok with this if you didn't care about high miles, or the fact that it was 2 years older than what you wanted for the upgrades found in a 2016. or you didn't care about the transmission, or the fact that it has had 4 owners and been in an accident. But you were specific about what you wanted.. This is what you will get for 28K. The car you { " Want " ) is in the 40K range.

You will likely be waiting quite a while to get a low mileage 16+ 2LT Z51 for only $30k... good luck in your search.
Ive seen several 2016's in the 34k range in my searchings from private sellers but the distance was too far away for me. I really believe that the market will get better for a used C7 starting in Jan 2020. Im not in a huge hurry as this is a want and not a need and one will eventually pop up. In my lifetime I have had some luck with getting great deals on vehicles and one will present itself. The low 30k 2016's are out there, you just have to jump on them fast. I have read from vette owners that even Carvana, Carmax etc are only giving corvette owners low 30's now. They may be anticipating the trade ups to the new 2020's. I really think that owners of C7's that want to trade up to the 2020 may want to sell ealier rather than later to get there best value for it.

Agree Bill ~ the wife was saying wait until one comes available that is more what I want. I was going to settle for the good deal and not what I really wanted. In the end I would have been unhappy. I do appreciate the advice..

Were those 2016s for $34k also low mileage Z51 2LT M7s with clean titles? The only $30k C7s at this point are HIGH mileage and missing some part of that criteria. Yes, eventually (which may be a matter of years) you can probably find something that meets all of that criteria for $30k. It's also the "impulse, gotta have it today" person that settles for a car that meets almost none of their criteria just to save a few bucks...

They had between 38 and 50k clean Carfax. I consider anything under 50k for a 4 year old and older car as normal I guess. Not really low... I have been looking for the past 6 months and seen a noticeable decline in prices. Most were in the 40k range 6 months ago but have seen a gradually decrease the past month from private listings. With you living just 5 minutes north of me, once I get one we should get together.

Ah yes our definition of low mileage does make quite a difference, lol. With a C7 I think of low mileage as being under 15-20k miles at most. I was looking for basically the same criteria as what you want, 16+ Z51 2LT M7 but with my definition of low mileage and no cars were anywhere near $30k. I also considered forgoing some of my preferred criteria to save some money, but I'm glad I paid a few grand more to get exactly what I wanted. Part of the reason to get one with particularly low mileage is to still have some factory warranty remaining. I'll let you know if I run into any that might fit what you are looking for, as I'm sure you've found the M7 requirement really limits choices anywhere close to where we live.

I forget that Corvettes are more of a non daily driver and should considering lower miles and that comes with a higher price point. And don't settle for something Im not wanting. I currently have a 1968 Camaro Convertible RS in pristine condition, the same color as your vette and just sold my 65 427 AC Cobra Unique Replica and my 46 Chevy Truck. When it comes to Newer Vehicles, I guess I'm a rookie. My 2008 GMC Diesel 2500 Crewcab that Ive owned for the past 10 years now was the last Newer vehicle I have purchased. I do appreciate all this advice.
You might find a 2014 Z51, 2LT, M7 with 48K on the clock for $35K, but once you move to a C7 that still has B2B warranty remaining, the price goes up. There was another thread on the forum, less than a month ago about a guy who was disappointed that a very low mileage, 2014, Z51, 2LT, M7 was sold for $40K before he could get it.
I think you might want to give it a little more time to allow the new model year to take hold. You should see a drop in prices within another 2 months.
BTW, I agree with you that's the sweet spot ( I have one), problem is, a whole bunch of people agree the Z51, 2LT, M7 (especially with mag ride) is the sweet spot.
