I have been using a Battery Tender Jr. for the past 7 years. Its been flawless. I put it on when I put the car away, and leave it on 24/7 for 3-4 months until spring. Its all you need and they are cheap.

I'm using the GM one - part number 84020220. However, as E-T mentions, it is made by CTEK, so buying one from a vendor other than the dealer will probably save you some dollars and still have the same quality of a battery tender.
Wwith the highly sophisticated electronics found in a C7, I would not trust the cheaper tenders out there. China will deliver a tender without any quality control, andwith the cheapest parts they can find. I would trust a brand name high quality tender where I would be able to contact a representative of the brand name. Here in the US , manufacturers will have a vested interest in their image. If anyone thinks a no name Harbor frieght or eBay tender for 20 dollars is the same thing as one found under a brand name with a warranty and a reputation at a cost of 75 to 100 dollars, is just fooling themself. a defective voltage regulator that would be much easier to find in a 20 dollar tender with no quality control, could cause a 5000 dollar electrical catastrophe with a compromised C7 wire harness.
There are things you should Not buy on the cheap..

But Ctek has to submit certifications of compliance to GM oversight... I was part of the oversight team at GM.. China can produce high quality parts.. but when no one is looking , then make junk. GM makes the specs and Ctek has to submit monthty SPC certifications. Statistical process control
All GM parts, AC Delco parts are made with strict compliance oversight.. They risk the loss of their contract with GM . They use a quality control method to insure they are in complaisance with Gm specifications including quality control certs. They take ownership of the quality they produce. Quality control is 1/3 the cost to manufacture, that's why parts that undergo quality control oversight or more costly.

Deltran Battery Tender !!! I have been using them for over 30 years with no problems !!!
Deltran Battery Tender plus is a quality tender... they are not 20 dollars.... they have a good reputation... worth the consideration.. New technology adds some new features to prolong the life of your battery.. Keeping sulfur crystals from forming is part of a cycle found in a Ctek, it has given me 8 years battery life with three different batteries. I only replaced them because of age, and not because of failure. One of those batteries is still in use after ten years as a bench 12V test source.
Bill.
I've got the CTEK multi useage charger from Amazon, and the adapter for the cigarette lighter orifice plug in. Total about $85.00 all told. I alternate it between my RV, and the C7.
I bought two El cheapo tenders from Walmart - like $12.00 each for my Mercedes Benz sedan and whatever else may need it. Cub Cadet tractor and my RV's house batteries.
