Manual Mode
Have a 17 A8, never use paddle shifters. When leaving gas station I accidentally put car in manual for 1/4 of block car was screaming, yellow line around tach. Was going maybe 30 mph but not sure

Doubtful that you did any damage to the engine but the screaming revs are an indication that a shift is needed.
