I am having an issue with my 2017 c7 stingray and am wondering if others are too. Can not find any info...
After 2 years, last april I noticed my drivers seat was dimpleing...I mean I had a depression in the seat about the size of a softball..You could see and feel this depression....I took it to my dealer and after photo and talks to higher ups they deceided to give my a new seat..They said on the repair form that there was defective foam under the seat causing a loose fit and depression...
I had only 8000 miles...so not that long at driving..
Well , the other day I noticed that it is doing it AGAIN...I can not believe this...I am going to take it by the dealer again but I am not sure they will take care of it again???
Has ANYONE had this issue or am I the only corvette in the nation with this issue...This is my first corvette and I just love it...
One guy at the dealer says it because of the fan cut outs that reduce the foam over that area????
I just do not know what to do...and this time it only took 8 months and 2000 more miles...Any ideas....Thanks
A picture is hard to do. It is not quite as deep as the first time..I caught it early....No wallet issue...that was brought up before...I take my wallet out most of the time but when i do not it is on the side of the seat. no where near the depression..Its like you take a softball and imprint it in the sand a a little..Thats what the impression looks like...Its also in the same location as the last time...I weigh in a 215 lbs...not lite but not excessive .
Its location is about 10 inches from back of seat and 7 inches from left side
Thanks for the response...If you push down on the seat it like makes a chrunching sound...
There have been many reports of creases in the driver seat. Some had the leather cover changed, with some good and some bad results. I had a few wrinkles in my seat very light though and because of some reports of dealer not doing a great job of recovering the foam. in fact the dealer made it worse. I used a heat gun and boiling hot towel to remove over 95% of the wrinkles. I chose to leave mine alone and they never got worse. Do a search.

It is a dent or impression that you can feel. maybe I will call chevy direct but right now do not have a number for them .
I just can not believe its happening again....
This is what the repair sheet said:":Inspected and found drivers seat bottom cushion cover deformed..This was caused by cushion under it causing it to fit loose...Removed seat and replaced drivers seat bottom cushion and cover"..
So am not sure about the actual whole seat...Will ask dealer when i go there.
Just called chevy and they said that it would still be covered and they had the paperwork and picture from the first time... Now its is on file..
Do you carry a side arm? maybe the barrel is sticking into the seat a bit. I don't know where the depression is, but the barrel could be pressing into the seat.
Thanks to all for the responces..I guess I am the only corvette in north america thats having this problem??
I do not carry a firearm....just mace.....too bad a temper for a gun....
I will see what chevy will do....just weird......

Well it is safe to say that not every Corvette owner in NA is on this forum... but no, I haven't had that problem with the vented/heated seats in my 2017 Z51.
hear is the photo showing the dimples.. I went to the dealer and he said that is where to holes are for the cooling fans and thats normal..???
I asked why they replaced it the first time and they said they were just trying to please the customer...I might call chevy again to update them but i got a feeling thats it. I said if it was a common problem i would understand but no one else i have talked to, even this forum has had an issue ....

Reason: add
I had my cover replaced on my C4 once because repair shop ripped the seat . It never fit tight and looked like your picture. Good luck with your seat problem.
someone suggested a heat gun to tighten up the seat??
I just called chevy again and told them what my dealer said and they are looking into it...Sent them some pictures...will seelll
Well here we go,. I complained to chevy and they had this lady call me..She spent the whole conversation explaining to me what the dealership said.....which was caused by the cooling fan holes and this problem is considered normal for this car...even though they had never seen one do this??? So how is that normal...
After over 30 min ,. with this lady she said she would send this info to the district manger??? They never received my pictures ...Looks like thats it...but I am going to another dealer and look at their used 2017 vette and talk to the manager..This issue is not dead but close...This lady was a total nut and never understood that all I was asking for was an opinion for chevy and not the dealer...
Thanks to all for the responces..I guess I am the only corvette in north america thats having this problem??

You are not alone.
Cooling fan cutouts are the issue.
Affects 2LT and 3LT cars only. No cooling fans in 1LT seats.
I went to another dealer today that had a used 2017 and 2019 and THEY BOTH had this issue...My bad....Live and learn... The 2019 only had 1000 miles on it....The sales person said he had never noticed it...I stand corrected....doesn't mean it right but there it is..
Thanks to all...Sanford
Thanks for the above links...made me feel better...will try the wet cloth first and maybe try a heat gun, but am a little nervous about doing that....
