About 6 months into my ZR1 ownership I noticed two adhesive failures: The front middle of the headliner is dropping down, and the dash is pulling away slightly, to the left of the steering wheel. Yes I could warranty both of these, but I would prefer to fix them myself if the solution is a straightforward DIY. No doubt other C7 owners have had these problems. I have 3M mounting tape, black RTV, Goop, etc. on hand, but do not have other thinner types of mounting tape. Suggestions appreciated.
That dash piece is held in with clips. It should be possible to just snap it back down. I've got that part of my car taken apart right now. I'll look at the fasteners for that area tonight.
The headliner has adhesive on the backing board. It should just be a matter of finding thin enough tape to put it back up there. You might want to pull the whole thing off and see if maybe there was a problem with the adhesive or something.
