Default Question about Headers....

Is there a huge difference in sound between long tube headers and mid length? or are they fairly close? Thanks in advance! (C7 z06 with 60547 Borla x pipe)

I am not sure about sound but the mid length is "supposed to" be installed without a tune and the full length will need a tune but give you a couple more HP... I think that is the most important part of this equation..

are you going to do a tune??

I will not be tuning it. I’m looking more for sound than the power tbh

There isn't a huge difference in sound with the mid-length vs long tubes. The difference is in length of collector/piping, which will not contribute much to the volume (but will deepen the tone a bit with long tubes). The volume difference comes with removal of stock cats. I would definitely recommend going with high-flow cats in any setup you choose -- Without cats you'll have a lot of rasp, it'll be wildly loud, and it will stink. Spend the extra money for the high flow cats.

I run ARH midlength. I've left pretty detailed reviews on the forum about it (if you look at my post history). I could not ever own another C7 without them -- they are fantastic.

Is anyone passing emissions testing with these Mid length headers? I have same setup as OP.

so I can get the mid length and the sound would be pretty close to the same?
