Default Screw loose..ok missing

Si I back up onto the new ramps to check clearance for when I do my tranny flush. Not quite high enough so it's back to the floor jack and stands. While under there though I see I am missing a chassis bolt. It appears the threaded portion is in but the bolt shaft/head have broken off. I've had to remove such bolts in the past for work but this one I'd rather not screw with given the torque that must have been applied to it. Off to GM parts to at least identify the bolt and have one on hand.

I would replace all the bolts on the rear cradle, probably over torqued with an impact.

That's a good question. I will look in more detail the next time I am under there. I've ordered two new bolts just in case but I do know the transmission had been replaced before my purchase. Now to find the torque value..........

Wonderful. Now you need to be suspicious of every fastener that the previous shop touched and there are a lot of them.

My thoughts exactly. I could forgive over torquing but not leaving it like that. That's just shoddy workmanship.....

Don't over-think it. I've seen people twist-off one bolt and not damage any others. Hope one is all you have trouble with. It's possible.

Missing bolts would certainly worry me. Good luck getting it fixed.

Do you have a wider shot of showing the location?. My car is on a lift and since I'm now curious I would like to check it (not that I expect anything). Thanks.
