I just installed (literally like 20 min ago) the attack blue filter. No issues with the replacement and everything went back no issues. Started it up, and the check engine is on. I drove around the block and the same.
I installed this filter and no check engine light after 1000 miles. (z06)
I read in one of the threads that the check engine may come on if your fob is near the car and the ecm is active when the maf is disconnected. Also check the seating if the air box. Make sure there are no leaks.

Has any else experienced this and any ideas why?
just clear the code , it's either the fuel trims or you disconnected the MAF
Same happened to me when I install my VARARAM and did my first WOT pull
Thanks. I checked everything again and all connections are good. Can you tell me how to clear the code?
Any auto parts store can clear your code , if it comes back ... then u have a problem , if it does not come back then it was just a clean surge caused by the filter or disconnecting the MAF with the battery connected

Not to worry. Over the years we have sold hundreds of filters. The filter never throws a code or CEL.
If you get a CEL, its because something is not hooked up/reconnected right or sealed. You will have to re check your lines and make sure you installed the filter correctly. Sounds silly but if the filter is not seated correctly that too would create a vacuum leak. This would be the same for any filter you install.
Also reconnecting the MAF plug needs to be right and locked.

Thank you. I wasn't trying to say it was the filter, just that the engine light and looking for suggestions. I appreciate your feedback and will remove everything tomorrow and reseat to ensure it is good.
Is it possible, that the light will reset itself after a coupe of drives?
I took everything apart and reinstalled everything. That was simple as before. Do the weather, I can't drive the car but will post an update this week. Again, I don't want anyone to get the impression that I am saying the filter caused the engine light, just asking if anything in the removal and replacement process cause have caused the engine to light come. I am keeping the Attack Blue filter and will see if a couple of cycles will reset itself.

I dont think it's anything you have done either ...
What we are saying is read the code as we can tell you if its the filter just causing a short term lean condition , which the ECM is quite capable of overcoming or .... if it's something worse ....
any auto parts store can read the code for free , just get it done and post it and post why take the chance

Thanks for all this info. I will be installing a new filter housing soon and will use this to hopefully help prevent any CEL.
Jack, dont disconnect the MAF when installing without first disconnecting the battery , then drive it for a few driving cycles sneaking up on WOT....this will allow the fuel trims to stabilize
I gaurentee you will not get a CEL if you follow these steps
