I just bought my first C7, this is my 5th vette, last was a C6. I purchased a certified 2015 LT1 from a chevy dealer.I'm concerned about all the problems with the bent wheels and cracked rims, I have Z51 black wheels, is there ant problems with these, also the first time I pulled it out of the garage and cut the wheels hard got a thumping noise or slipping which I can feel in the front end, I get in both directions, left and right and forward and backward with the wheels cut hard, ok when i'm driving and normal turns. Before I bring back to the dealer I want to see if anyone else has this problem. never experienced this before. I have the Michelin pilot super sports and 20,000 miles on the car, 19's front and 20's rear.
Hi! While it's a bit of a shock the first time you feel it, this is normal. There is a discussion somewhere in the manual, but here is one of several links to the effect. It's called the Ackerman Effect LINK
Regarding bent wheels, there are very few reports on the Z51 or Stingray wheels, which are narrower than the Z or GS.

The tire chatter is normal on the OEM Michelin tires. As said, some all season tires will eliminate the noise.
And I do not recall hearing of the base and Z51 wheels having a problem with bending or cracking. It has been mainly the GS and Z06 wheels that have been problematic.
Welcome to the community and ENJOY your new to you C7!
Just like the fellas above said...all normal. And the colder it gets, the worse the tire hop/chatter/akerman effect is. But, if you get the Mich Sport all season tire...it's gone. Totally gone. Plus, you'll never have to worry about driving in super cold temps. You just can't track the car with All Season tires.
I find this unbelievable this is normal. My 2000 C5 had run flats, and I ,drove it occasionally in the winter when their was a mild day and never experienced this, I live in the new York area and it was cold those days I took it out, about 40 degrees and I know your not suppose to drive it in the cold with these tires, but never expected this, it was kind of violent. i'll probably replace the tires with *** season when the time comes.

I believe the owners manual also tells folks that this is normal.
Like said - "Normal," and it is mentioned in the Owner's Manual. My C6 GS did it on the stock Goodyear runflats, but when I switched to Bridgestone runflats it stopped. My '19 does it to so just back out slow and ignore it.
when I switched to Bridgestone runflats it stopped.
Similar story for me. The factory Michelin run-flats = tire chatter turning at parking lot speeds even in warm FL. I switched to normal (non-run flat) Bridgestones = almost nothing, they chip just a tiny bit now and only at full lock.
As others mentioned the cracked wheels are mostly on the GS and Z06 cars which have wider widths, the narrower Z51 aren't effected.

It is rather alarming when you don't expect it, but our C6 occasionally did the same thing in cold weather.
Depending on conditions, sometimes you can avoid the shudderjump by not cranking the steering so far over. Not exactly a fix, but a work-around.
When I got my used C7 I actually got out of the car to make sure I had not run over anything the first time it happened. It was that much of a hop! Thus I can easily relate to people getting worried about it.

The wheel tire hopping is intensified because the fronts are of less circumference than the rears. The Smart car suffers from this effect at crawl speeds as well when being towed.

For the 128K miles I had my C6 it did it. The CTS-V Caddy did it too - 62K miles and my C7 has done it from day one - I'm at 92,690 miles.....
