Default Battery tender

Can anyone recommend a battery tender that plugs into the cigarette lighter? Doesn’t need to have Corvette logo if works better at half the price. TIA

How about works the same for a little less?

You will also need the adapter.

Ctek makes good ones. Just be sure to plug it in to the hole in the trunk, not the dash.

Agree on the Ctek! We have 5 of them running all the time on various vehicles. Also have a couple of cheaper brands and while they seem to run fine, I have much more faith in the Ctek to maintain properly on the newer cars that have a lot of electrical drain.

The older CTEK 3300 model does a great job and can still be found for under $69

Default VDC Electronics BatteryMINDer® Model 2012

I’ve used this model for years with great results on 3 different cars over 10 years

Buy the optional lighter adapter when you buy the unit (adapter is 2nd link)

Default Battery Tender

May be a silly question BUT it’s getting a bit colder so I’m looking at putting up my C7, what exactly does the battery tender do? & do I park in garage & plug in every day it’s in the garage or ?????

If you still drive it regularly then it’s not needed. If you go weeks without driving it it’s a good idea to put it on the charger. Especially in the cold weather.

It’s primarily used as a battery maintainer when storing or not using your vette for any prolonged period. With the amount of electronics that remain active in a C7 while parked, your battery will drain after a few weeks.

If this is for a C7, why not use the GM accessory one that plugs into the outlet in the hatch. If for another car, some good recommendations have been given.

When a battery sits for long periods of time, it build up sulfate crystals. These crystals impede the development of electricity and reduce the charge and hold status..A tender with a desalination cycle will remove these crystals. The better Ctek MUS 4.3 8 step charger/ tender has this superior cycle..
Its what I use.

I'm with EJ1 on the recommendation of the BatteryMinder Plus and adaptor. This model also disulfates like the better
CTEC units. I got mine on sale from Northern Tools.
