This from a thread talking about an aftermarket St'ray wheel (I added the bold)...
"WEIGHT: Wheel weights are about 28 lbs front and 30 lbs rear, which from what I've read, is about 2 lbs more per wheel than OEM Z51 wheels. So while these are not ultra-light wheels, they don't cost like an ultralight either. For comparison, they do weight about the same as other low-cost reproduction cast wheels for the C7."
When I was researching aftermarket wheels I found someone had listed Z51 wheels as 24# front and 27# rear but GM offered several styles so not sure how accurate that is.
My Z51 chrome "Torque" wheels with OEM tires were 49.8# front & 60.8# rear based on a bathroom scale that I've found to be pretty accurate. Tire Rack claims the tires themselves are 27# front and 32# rear, which makes the wheels alone 22.8# front and 28.8# rear.
Thank you! It seems the aftermarket Z51 style chrome wheels run in the low 30’s weight-wise. About 5 or 6 pounds heavier than OEM. Would that weight difference adversely effect the car’s performance on regular day to day driving?
Here is something else I knew I had stuck away somewhere:
"On my scale. The base 18" 5 spoke silver front wheels weight 23.4 lbs (some have measured it at 24 to 24.5)
The rear 19" wheels weight 27.0 lbs (some have measured it at 26.5)
For comparison, the z51 19/20 wheels weight virtually the same so don't expect weight loss there. You also won't see any weight loss by going from a 19/20 tire to a 18/19 tire (according to tire rack). Yes you may see 3-5 lbs per tire by leaving the runflats but it depends on what tire you go with. You'd be surprised that some track tires only weigh 1-2 lbs less than the stock runflat of the same size."

Not significantly, plus you'll likely adapt to it quickly. Given the C7's performance characteristics you have plenty of margin to deal with slightly heavier wheels. On my previous car (350Z) I switched to much larger (and heavier) brakes and I did notice the extra unsprung weight when driving over rough surfaces. Railroad tracks in particular became annoying as the suspension rebound became faster then stock. However after a few weeks it felt "normal" to me as I adjusted to it.
Clearly it would be better to find lighter wheels if you are going thru the expensive of buying new ones. However you have to balance factors like style, weight, strength and budget to pick what works best for you. I think most people would prioritize styles unless they are dedicated track drivers. Those that have experienced bent OEM wheels (GS / Z06 guys) are instead going to focus on strength.
