Default Ceramic brake pads

Looking for experienced advice on replacing factory brake pads with ceramic. Who makes the best ones? I am in Upland CA 91784 area...know a good mechanic who could do the work? I just bought this 2019 ZO6. The car as about 1100 miles on it. Thanks!

Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. My vote is for PowerStop pads - used them on my 12, my 14 and soon to be installed on my 17... Virtually dust free, awesome stopping power and simple to install.

I'm assuming you are looking for low dust pads? I went the Carbotech 1521 path which I'm very satisfied with, but as Adam said, if you do a search for C7 low dust pads, you'll read about other options including the PowerStops. To search, go to the Search tab above, then click on the Advanced Search link.

Happy Power Stop user here with a Z51... they produce very little dust and perform great, so I recommend them.

I really didn't have massive hate for the OEM Brembos, they dusted more then average but I am used to aggressive track pads so

These are the ones I installed almost immediately after getting my car. I would say the at least as good as the factory (maybe a tad better), and absolutely no problems or dust.

Recommend them, but probably others are just as good.

I swapped my OEM pads with Carbotech 1521's. Happy with them. No issue. Brake dust considerably reduced.

That's why I chose PowerStop - I could not believe the insane prices Carbotech was charging for pads...

I swapped my OEM pads with Carbotech 1521's. I did this as soon as I got the car home from the dealer. Dust free, no burnish, no breakin procedure. It took me longer to jack the car up than it did to swap out the pads in my garage. Very easy to do.

Z23 - some discussion here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...re-tricky.html
Compounds are the same, the backing plate seems to be the only difference. On the street, even in "aggressive" driving you are just not generating that much heat. Maybe if you do mountain / canyon runs then having a more heat resistance backer might be advisable.

Interesting post - wonder if others are having the squeak problem? The powerstop pads are really affordable. Like $60 for the rears. Hey maybe just try em and see. If squeak use em for boat anchors.

Since the Vette is a "performance" vehicle, I would suggest the Z26 pads... Sure the Z23 pads are enough...but for the minimal $50 (+/-) price difference, why not go for the performance pads...just my .02 cents

No, if they squeak send them back for refund.

My Powerstops only squeak after I have washed my car and put it in the garage. They stop squeaking before I leave the driveway.

I replaced the OEM with the CarbonTechs from a forum vendor here and it just still had way too must for me. After 1k on the clock the wheels were pitted and peeling from brake dust. I then swapped out to PowerStops and much less dust. Mine is street use.
