Looking to buy a C7GS. I don't mind used as there are quite a few low mileage used ones around. Other than the warranty ending earlier on a used one, is there any other reason to go with a 2019? I can't seem to find anywhere about differences between a 2017/2018/2019.
Sorry if this has been discussed before. I tried using the search but didn't find anything.
The only thing I am aware of is the magnetic shocks have an updated software patch for 2019 production. It is available to add at the dealer on older ones for like $350 if I remember correctly. I thought that the GS and Z06 also got some rear end parts that they put on the 2019 ZR1 but don't remember specifics. Heavier duty spider gears? Maybe someone else knows more on that.
More data is available via the PDR file in the 2019 (and perhaps the 2018) than the 2017. It's primarily suspension data, but if you plan to track your car it's a nice benefit when performing Pi Toolbox analysis.
What do you mean about the Valet mode. It seems to work the same in my 2016 and my 2019. I do not have PDR.
I had thought that valet mode was only available with PDR on the earlier years. I had read it somewhere on the forum, maybe it applied to the 2014 era. Sorry for the confusion
My 2014 had valet mode. It locked the glove box and dash cubby and prevented convertible top operation. Never used it. Of course there was not audio / video recording since PDR was not available for 2014
I just bought a 2019 GS w/ 2LT trim (adrenaline red interior). While shopping, I observed the comparable 2017 models' interior did not look the same. Essentially, more adrenaline red throughout the cabin in 2019 than 2017.
