What is the very best replacement battery for 2016 C7 Z06?
Not able to get my trunk open even with remote steel key, not enough voltage. Battery has always been on trickle charger for exactly 3 years since purchase when not driving it. Don't know why it won't provide enough juice to gain entry.
So now thinking about buying a new one to solve the problem. So what is the best unit on the market that has cranking amps and long life and trouble free maintenance?
I see some comments about Optima yellowtop H6/Group 48 with 800 CCR but it is $292.00.
Anyone know where I can get this same one for less money? I think Advance auto parts sells this one.
Anxious to hear inputs from other owners who have had similar problem.
I put a 48-720 odyssey in my 15 z and it worked great. I'm trying a 40 amp H6 Antigravity in my 19z but haven't had it long enough to see how well it will work One nice thing about the Antigravity is that it has built in jump starting. You get 2 remotes that will turn on the jump start if the battery goes dead and you don't have to actually jump it. If you want the very best it gets expensive...

This one gets my vote for overall value and service. It will run you about $125>$150 depending where you get it and should give 4 years service even in Fla providing starting/charging systems are OK.

I got this battery by default after mine went dead and the closest place with a battery to me was a Chevy dealer. I paid the price for not changing it when he warning signs first showed up, like slow cranking, hell I even posted about it but didn't change it until it went dead...anyway this battery has worked well so far.
The steel key would not unlock the trunk, so used plastic pry and that did it, also my remote was a further distance away from the car and prevented entry. Finally got it jump started gonna watch it a few days and make sure it maintains voltage sufficient to start it...if it hesitates even once.....I will replace it.
Just want to get the best trouble free longest lasting battery I can find and be done with it.

Gets my vote too. It is the battery that I replaced my original one with when I swapped it out last May.

More nonsense. No piece of plastic will open the trunk. The remote can be in another country and the key will still open the trunk.

If the key released the trunk but the lid didn't pop up, using something to get under the edge and lift might work.
But the problem would still remain even after getting the electric release working.

I put this battery in my 2014 Z51 convertible this year. I only could find it direct from the manufacturer but you do get free shipping, no tax charged (up to you to report on your state's income tax form), and no core charge. I believe you can get $10 to $20 dollars at an auto parts store or a metal scrap yard for your old one. I fully expect it to last much longer than the original battery.
This is the best battery for the C7 if you desire weight loss, longer life span, full protections for ultra long life and built-in WIRELESS Jump Starting... Yes we know some will say its high priced... and in that case best to stick with lead/acid if you don't desire the feature it offers.
