Meaning...if over heated, would it shut itself down? Is there software that prevents running a new C7 hard until that program is reset/deleted by a Tech at the first oil change?
On one of the P car forums a poster has a 400 mile, new C7. At an AUTOCROSS event it shut down and refused to start.
He's also stating it's "locked up" and at the Dealer.
I'm looking for some information to stand up for the marque if I can.
Yes the car has a limp mode. The Z06 could get hot enough on the Race Track after several laps in 90*+ heat to experience it. Discussed ad nauseam on these forums. No the car does not have to go to the dealer to reset it, the car just needs to cool off. No it does not prevent the car from starting. Lastly....NFW he got it that hot at an auto cross.
At 400 miles, he hasn’t hit the required break-in miles. He better worry about GM honoring the warranty. They go so far as to graphically lower the redline on the IP so people know not to bang on it.

You know, I never really worried about what other car owners thought of a Corvette. The main thing to me is that I like the car. All cars have their +/- points and I've yet to find a perfect one. But the answer to you question is provided above.
