Just purchased a new 2019 base Stingray. When I try to set driving mode sometimes the modes go from track to weather non stop. When I reverse the direction to try my choice again the same thing happens. Eventually I am able to make my selection. What am I doing wrong?

Probably holding the **** too long. Twist it in the direction of the mode you want to go and release. If you hold it too long it will skip and go to the next mode. Easy once you get use to it.

Yeah, holding it too long can make the modes jump more than one selection.
I also have a base Stingray and the only thing the drive selector does that I can tell is change the exhaust sound. If it does anything else, I cannot tell or feel it.

Make sure Link to Drive Mode is turned on. Below is what changes... just note depending on options not much may happen as indicated by (if equipped). Also some settings like steering and exhaust have over rides so it possible those are locked into a different mode. Check they are set to Link to Drive Mode as well.
