I was under the impression all Z51's had NPP as part of the package

Corsa has a Sport version, which is less aggressive than the Extremes. Neither have drone....

All aftermarket systems will be loud compared to stock non-npp. I chose AWE afm back to avoid emissions test failure and warranty questions. Corsa makes a sport version in that configuration. Mine are about the same sound level as npp in track mode. Both have 180 degree drone suppression and cannot run quiet like npp. Price was main factor for selecting AWE. Fitment was perfect and I am satisfied.

Do a little legwork and find some guys in your area with aftermarket exhaust and ask them to let you listen to them. The Forum, a Corvette Club, etc. We did this with our C6. Most C7 folks are going to be anxious to show off their stuff. Billy Boat is in Phoenix, so that was a day trip from Tucson. We found Borla's, Flowmaster's, and Billy Boat's to be too loud, And then not marketed as no drone. The car was a DD, drone would have been an issue. We settled on Corsa Sports which gave us neighborhood friendly growl, no drone, and well documented quality. We ordered our C7 with NPP, but we never switch it to quiet. Wasn't the point. So aftermarket would have worked just as well for it.

I have a '14 Z51 1LT 7MT conv. with the basic exhaust (my 6th and last Vette, retired); after looking and listening I too added the Corsa Sport; very nice sound track with a few pops when cold but not as loud as the Extreme (and other comparable brands such as Borla, Flowmaster, etc). No droning of any kind. It's not as loud but it is easier to live with if you drive regularly. Well priced and fits right on. If you add it and find you want a little more you can always add an X-pipe.

I took the NPP exhaust off my 2014 Z51 7M and replaced it with Corsa Sport and Corsa X-pipe.... great idle, quiet cruise and bad to the bone on wide open throttle! Look around for sales prices... you can save quite bit! my 2 cents! CJ

I’m in the same spot on a 17 z51.... my first step is going to swap to a cai and swap the xpipe to remove the secondary cats. Since like you I want it louder but not overwhelming I’m going to try that and see where it gets me.

there are great options between AWE corsa and Borla out there and much higher end if you want it....for me I’m going to do in small steps and will look for best value. Good luck
