Just curious if there is a way visually to tell if a car has the z07 package.(badges, brakes what not)
Thanks

Carbon ceramic brakes are the easiest way to tell. You could buy them stand alone, but the majority come with the Z07 package. I believe the rear spoiler will also have the clear middle section and the front splitter comes with the larger stage 3 ends.

No badging, but carbon brakes and stage3 aero are an easy tell, although some owners swap to stage2 aero.

Cup 2 tires. You can also look at the build codes on the door on 2019's or the rear hatch area under the carpet near battery compartment on pre 2019. Just be careful lifting up the carpet as it can tear.

I know the earlier 2015-2016 Z07s engines were hand built in Bowling Green and received a badge on the engine listing the engine builder. Check under the hood for the badge.

Here is mine

This badge will not be present on non Z07s during this time frame.

The rear Wickerbill and larger stage 3 ends come with the car. Usually the dealer installs them. I never installed mine as the Wickerbill makes it harder to get things in and out of the trunk.

Fundamentally, the only way to guarantee that the car has the Z07 package is to find the RPO code. Everything visible in the package could be ordered as an option.

A dealer can pull the build information if you provide them a VIN. It will be the last item on the list.

The fastest way to tell is by looking at the Brake rotors and Brembo Brake calipers. If they are ceramic they are most likely the Z07 Ultimate Perfomance Package. The package also includes Pilot Cup tires, but most of us typically replace them right away with Pilot sports since they really are not great street tires and don't last long. GM should give customers the option to choose if they want them or not. Since I don't track my car I replaced them after 700 miles and sold them to other forum members who do. It also comes with the Z07 suspension. With regards to Stage 3 front winglets and center Wicker Bill, they did not come with the Grand Sport, if ordered with the Z07 package since the Grand sport did not have enough downforce to maximize their effectiveness.
I have a Grand Sport Collectors edition with the Z07 option as well as the optional exposed Carbon Fiber Rear spoiler and sent GM a letter stating that I was told that I should have received the Wicker bill for the optional Carbon Fiber spoiler that came with my car and they told me NO it was not standard, only on the Z06.

Hope this helps.

Many 17Zs have the Ceramic brakes and not the Z07 package. GM was basically giving them away as an incentive for awhile. I nearly got one locally but couldn’t do an auto.

The Cup2 tires are part of the package. If you don't want them then it is simple don't order the package.

Z07 Z06s were delivered with a Stage 2 front splitter, a splitter undertray, the Stage 2 Rear Spoiler, packaged in the rear you also received the Stage 3 End Caps that were to be installed on the front splitter and the center clear wicker bill to be installed on the rear spoiler when going to the track. OM clearly states the Stage 3 End caps and Center Wicker Bill should only be used on track. Besides the Aero pieces the ceramic brakes and higher rate springs and stabilizer bars were included in the package. I am not sure the shocks were physically different than the non Z07 Z06 since Z07 specific ESC programming could make the shocks behave differently.

The biggest visual difference between the Z07 Z06 and Z07 GS is the GS didn't get the clear center wicker bill since it didn't have sufficient engine power to pull the center wicker through the air at high speed. What was gained in improved handling was lost in reduced speeds on the straights.

I have a 2015 Z06/Z07 and went through a hassle getting the proper aero parts for my car because the dealership lost them when they did the dealer prep before putting the car on the show room floor. There was quite a big hiccup when I insisted on having my Stage 2 End Caps which had been taken off so the Stage 3 End Caps could be shown. Turned out they were only available by purchasing the complete front splitter and they didn't want to pay $2000 for the splitter.

The best way to determine if the car has Z07 is to look at the RPO code. No need to visit the dealer. Not sure when they stopped using the RPO sticker in the rear of the car but look for the FE7, J57, XFM and Z07 RPOs. These are the 4 RPOs that define the Z07 package.

Here is the sticker from my car:

You could use one of the many "window sticker" websites to create a sticker . All you need is the vin# and $5 or $10.
