The tint looks good I know he said it was a secondary offense. Not sure I would take that chance. In most states they can stop you for the tint. They may not but there is always that chance. Police might not think it looks so good when you get stopped if he is not a Vette guy
but if you know that going into it go for it and keep extra $$ on hand just in case and roll like that.
Hi all, I just had my tint removed I had the standard legal tint for FL which didn’t seem very dark, and it certainly didn’t cut down any heat in the car! (28% front and 15% rear)
I’m not interested in putting anything on the front windscreen.
im having it redone with ceramic heat rejection on Wednesday originally I said I wanted 5% all round.
im young with good eyes so the whole darkness things doesn’t worry me, and on top of that the roof is usually off or windows down.
i think for my look, darkest would look best.
Anyone have pics, or have 5% or close all round so I can get an idea ?
Before - fronts were too light for my liking
thanks.
I am in FL, just put 20% all around and the front strip. To me, it's perfect. Can't see any detail inside and night vision is excellent. I had a bit darker on my last GT and almost hit my neighbor and 🐕 while making the turn down my street. Not the case with 20%
Well, here's my perspective, (yeah, I'm old, but I've been around the block..)
There are potential consequences that most people don't think about. I'm not just talking about the police. Say you get into an accident, and worse for you it was your fault. Say you were leaving cars and coffee and got stupid, and wrecked the car, worse for you there were others involved and injured. Now some enterprising lawyer see pictures and has a brainstorm. He gets a subpoena and has the windows tested and finds it's illegal. He then proceed to sue you and your insurance company sees that you weren't driving a legal car, and declines to cover you. (well, because they can, you really should read your policy), so you are personally on the hook for all costs... Now you owe thousands to 100's of thousands of $ for the rest of your life..
Insurance companies will look for any reason to deny paying a claim, and lawyers will sue you even if you did nothing wrong. Just the facts of the world. Not saying that will happen, but it's a distinct possibility.
So my advice is don't tint darker than legally allowed, and use the AC and a sunshade. You are of course free to any stupid thing you want.
I guess I have just been lucky for the past 40 years, never had an issue with darker tint in FL. There is such a thing as TOO dark. I don't cross that line.

Your car looks really nice! I have been considering wrapping the roof black for a while now too.
I’m going to take a drive to the tint place today at lunch as after all these helpful comments I may just do 5 on the back and see if there is a 15 for the sides.

5 is pretty dark even just for the back. Have them show you the 15-20's.
I did not wrap the top, I bought the two top option, this one is the "clear" on the car but it's not really clear, very dark as you can see.
Today was the day I had my window tint re-done / upgraded.
I went for the Llumar ceramic heat rejection..
i had considered 5% all round, but the night driving issues I heard and read online didn’t seem worth the hassle.
I decided on 5% on the rear and the 1/4 windows. And 15% in the front. Nothing on the windscreen. For reference my truck there is the legal limit for Florida... whatever that was!
No worries sir. It’s driven on weekends on back country roads, away from gen pop with their Malibus and crossovers. Worst case, I might not see a raccoon, but that’s about it
Raccoon lives matter !!! Jeez I crack myself up

I've got 3M Color Stable on both these, 5% on the backs and 20% on the sides. At night the 20% can get to be a bit hard to see out of depending on the lighting around you
