I was told the discounts on my GS were to high to qualify for the educators discount.
I believe, but am not positive, that the educator discount does not effect the dealers bottom line and is reimbursed to the seller by GM. Not sure how it all works.

I was told that all the discounts along with dealer discount that the educator discount did not apply and this was from MAcMulkin. I am sure smaller dealers would be happy to give an educators discount, but you won’t get as low as one of the three big dealerships could offer. My local dealers went even close to what MacMulkin was offering.
most of the salesman I met at the local dealerships likely never made it to the 11th grade. Kerbeck's all went to grad school as I suspect MacMulkin's, Mike Furman, Conte and a few others did as well!
My dealer used the educator's discount as part of my overall discount so they didn't have to fund that out of their margin. Not sure why a dealer wouldn't let GM "fund" that part of the discount for buyers who qualify instead of taking a hit to their margin. I bought my 2019 Z06 at 16% off MSRP back in May.
Thanks for doing what you do! It's gotta be rough these days.
Thanks. You're not kidding about being tough! I come home, lay on the floor and shake every day. I hear the only cure is Corvette! On the search for one!

I was married to the big Corvette web sites for 6 months. December was absolutely the best month for buyers! Got one at a 93K MSRP for 72.5K. Now the same car is 81K at various dealers with discounts. (still a good deal)
With that said stay vigilant with your searches and you will eventually come up with a suitable deal. But act fast as the inventories are shrinking, but not as much as last month with the all the good deals.

I'm looking at used as well. When the right deal arrives, I'll jump in it.

Yes. I was looking at low mileage used 2017s and 2018s and some were asking as much or more than I paid new for Crice Sake! But there were some decent used deals out there.
