Default Axle boot tear

Hello. I started searching on the forum to see if anyone else had boot tear on the rear passenger side. I couldn't really seem to find a similar issue.
Basically what happened is I noticed a leak before installing my coilovers. I replaced the entire axle including a new boot.
Then 1 week later I noticed a tear in the boot again.
It's literally where the clamp is holding the boot. I looked for anything rubbing or slightly touching. But everything seems to clear it.

Not sure if the new boot is a factory defect or if the clamp was just too tight and tore the boot.

The only thing I can say that I've noticed is some loose noise coming from the rear passenger side suspension. I don't know if things are too tight or not fine-tuned on that part of the axle.

Before anyone tells me take it to the dealer. I already have.

Even though you took it to the dealer do you know for sure either axle was installed correctly? Noise on that side may indicate there may be an issue with the installation of the axle. If there is nothing rubbing the boot from the outside it has to be some sort of an issue where the axle is either too far in or too far out from the center line of the car thus causing stress on the boot. The boot tearing may be a symptom of the problem Vs the actual problem.

I am in the axle and driveshaft rebuilding business in my spare time for the past 20 years and work for a master re builder who has been doing it for the last 35 years and is considered one of the best on the east coast. Give me some more info as nothing makes sense as to why your boot is ripping. Axles pretty much go in ONE WAY although we don't work on cars, we only rebuild oem axles and custom make or rebuild oem driveshafts.

BTW are you sure the boot is ripped? Just asking. All I see is grease, no separation of the rib.

it's definitely a tear. When we checked that part and took the photo, it shows that the clamp ripped it right from that small spot.
I just don't know if its from the factory defect or if something made it tear during driving.

Seems impossible it happened because of driving.

Exactly. Front axles yea because of the turning (on front wheel drive cars) and the up and down movement but not the rear.

I believe that too. I was thinking maybe when I tilt the car on the driveway and it forces it to tear. But now I'm leaning towards factory defect and just having it fixed without overthinking so much. Maybe it was just a bad batch and it got unlucky with it considering it happened within a week.
