Also, a new car is under warranty. If there's any damage, GM pays to fix it. As compared to the typical transport company, especially those that use open trailers- if anything gets damaged, too bad.

Completely understood, While I would never have the transporter ship it open and unprotected, there are many of us that have towed with open trailers and no damage occurred.

We used UShip a few years ago to get our C6 from Chicago to California in January, did the paperwork about a month in advance. The vendor we picked on UShip was Montway, not the cheapest quote but they had good recommendations.
We contracted for an enclosed trailer at a specified price.
A few days before scheduled pickup, Montway informed us that we had to accept an open trailer or nothing. It turns out they never did have an enclosed trailer for us, just hoped they could get one somehow. They tried to charge us much more than their previous (rejected) quote for open shipping. The car arrived about 3 days late in Sacramento, covered with a thick layer of frozen mud and sand. Literally, I was flushing mud out of the doors for the next year. The driver, despite agreeing otherwise, unloaded the car without calling our house a block away, and he used the wipers on that frozen sand windshield; deep scratches.
If you read their Terms of Service, it translates to:
"We'll pick up your car when it's convenient for us, deliver when we get around to it, and when things get damaged, too bad."
A truly horrible experience from UShip. A friend used them during summer, delivery was slow and the windshield was cracked. Too bad, so sad.
That's the extent of my experience with UShip, and I don't plan to get any more.
No all experiences are that bad, but far too many.
UShip is a broker, and the advice I've received from others many times is "Absolutely avoid brokers. If you'll have to use a broker, hire somebody to drive it instead."

Hmm?
OP starts thread by saying he is only interested in price. So why ask for Forum member's recommendation? Only he can assess what his lowest price is. How silly.

I chose to not ship my Z06....flew up to NJ and drove it home to Texas. Had a blast! Made some great memories AND spent some time on the ever-glorious Tail of the Dragon.
No regrets!

I wonder what the OP bought? We haven't heard from him in a while.

I would always opt for enclosed trailer, but as I wrote that's just me. My uShip carrier also included a 100% no deductible insurance policy. Unlike most all the other carriers I shopped on the Net.

I purchased my vette from “prestige motors” in york, penn. Owner is tom and he specializes in pristine vetts. I used his transport guy to deliver my vette. Only a couple hundred miles but it was winter. Enclosed trailer, only moves one at a time and is a one man show (retiree). Charged me one dollar a loaded mile. He told me if cross country then the cost is higher to cover his no load miles. Fully insured and bonded. Tom’s phone number. Is 717-487-8864. My delivery was on time to the hour and vette was showroom perfect. Hope this helps!
