Default OEM side skirt

I just purchase a EOS Z06 side skirt, although the fitting is fine, I was shocked to find that the side skirt is a hollow shell with a nice top finish. Are the OEM or more expensive aftermarket skirts has a flat bottom and build like a actual air foil? I wonder the how to hollow shell side skirt will gain any performance?

The OEM skirts are also hollow. There is really no appreciable performance gain from using them.

Yes, the OEM is hollow underneath also. I do not know if any appreciable performance gain from the skirts - but they sure look good.

They add an appreciable amount of lower body protection.

I tracked my Z51 both with and without the skirts... and trust me you WANT the skirts to keep crap from getting on the side of the car.

The splash guards are not enough - my Z51 had those and while I'm sure they help some its apparently not enough.

The black marks are rubber kicked up from the front stock tires.

Thank you for all the replies, that make me feel better. I guess the EOS is a excellent buy then.

The splash guards are good for street road dust. but sticky tires ( My Toyo proxies R888R ) on the track at 120 + leave lots of rubber. The side skirts make a big difference

Fun time at NewJersy track

OEMs are the same way. I have a set for sell if anyone is looking for a set.

But I am told the OEM ones are much higher quality and last longer. A few posted in the thread linked above.
