Bought the exact same color combinations/options from Kerbeck a year ago. Hope your trip home goes better than mine went. After picking up the car and leaving Atlantic City, the skies opened up so bad we couldn't see the road ahead. Onstar gave us some erroneous directions and I still don't know where we were in N.J. - still couldn't see the road. Made it to our motel in Delaware - no thanks to Onstar. Coming down I-95 the next day (we live in N.C.), trying to vary the speed to properly break in the car for the 1st 500 miles, we'd pass a truck, get passed by the same truck(s) numerous times. Came thru D.C. just prior to rush hour. No sooner cleared the D.C. traffic , ran into a 3.5 hour backup on I-95. Later found up there were 12 tractor trailers and 19 cars in an accident. Sat on I-95 for 3.5 hours in 90 degree heat. One or two more minor issues prior to finally arriving home about 6.5 hours later than expected. But as they say, any landing you walk away from is good landing! But since then, nothing but good experience with the new Vette. The week after we got home, my Corvette club went to Nashville for a week. Rained all the way there. On the way back, we came up the Blue Ridge Parkway and ran into light snow - that was fun with summer tires. Experiencing every scenario imaginable the 1st week with this Vette, everything since then has been very tame. At least I found out quickly what to expect in every road condition.
Glad you made in home ok. Other than bad weather that is the main issue I would have driving a new car 2000 miles away back home, engine break in. Guess if you stayed off the interstates, never used cruise control and drove only 2 lane roads you would kind of naturally change speeds and stop and go often enough. And in some cases look for a chevy dealer after 500 miles for that first free oil change.

Some may argue that is why it is better to have the car shipped to your home. But things can happen within 25 miles just as well. Shipping it to home would have had no impact on the trip to Nashville/back. Me, driving a new Vette, even with all the issues, I was having a ball!! My wife - that's a different story. She still refers to the experience as "the trip thru hell!'. I'm pretty sure - make that positive - if I buy a C8 from Kerbeck in the future, she won't be going with me. Our trip was only about 350 miles each way. Unless I threw in some side trips and sightseeing, 2,000 miles may justify shipping back home.
If the end goal is saving money, have it CD near you from new. That's the ultimate way to save money on it. I believe that he said he can't take time off from work. CD is a no brainer then...
