Default Headlight sensor

Where is the headlight auto sensor located?. Mine is not working correctly. Dash presentation intermittently goes very dark- apparently thinks it's night and dimmer won't adjust.

10 year member and this is your first post? Lmao

I believe it's located right in the middle of the dash.

It's the dome on the dash.

Around dusk my DIC occasionally goes dark as the sensor gets confused about what light is present.

I have 80% tint on my windshield and a dashmat and mine thinks it night 50% of the time during the day... I have gotten used to it.. The things we do to keep the dash from failing and delamination...

Make sure nothing is blocking the sensor. Had a similar problem as a result of my ez pass blocking the sensor.

When your alarm is setting or set, the red bump on the dash that does all the flashing? Well, that is also the day/night sensor that turns your lights on/off.

You must have a 1LT or 2LT... The 3LT leather dash falls apart, delaminates, and it costs about $3,000 to fix, many threads about this... Just trying to keep mine looking like new...

If you mean exactly what you say, 80% means it allows 80% of light to enter. By the way C7s have all windows at 70% from factory. It is printed in TINY words on each window (which is less allowable)than you installed. If you have ceramic type tint I guess it’s possible that would interfere with the headlight’s sensor.
