Default 2017 C7 LT1 engine knocking?

If this has been covered before maybe I can be guided to the discussion.

I'm new to the Corvette and I'm still getting used to the sound and vibration of the engine at idle.

However, I have noticed a sound reminiscent of engine knock at RPMs below 1500, regardless of what mode I'm in. And I am using 93 octane fuel. This knocking sound usually happens upon acceleration without being aggressive/heavy with the accelerator, or when I'm at cruising speed on the highway and I press a little on the accelerator to increase speed a little. But I can't tell if in fact the sound is coming from the engine or somewhere along the exhaust.

Is this normal? Has anyone noticed this on theirs? Is there a solution if indeed it is not normal?

You should not have noticeable engine knock... You should fill out your profile to include the year of your car.
two things that could cause this since you said you use 93 octane. either you got a bad load of gas, or Ive seen a piece of carbon get stuck in a spark plug at the electrode... this piece of carbon acts like a glow plug and causes preignition.. its rare but it does happen... its easily seen when pulling spark plugs.. but like I said its rare.

Posting a video is always helpful when internet troubleshooting a sound from your car. What you are calling a "knock" might sound more like a "tap" to somebody else. The common sounds of the LT1 are what most would refer to a rhythmic tapping sound and are usually from the high pressure fuel pump or valvetrain noise. If you are truly worried, take your car in for diagnosis as a 2017 should still be under drivetrain warranty unless it has more than 60k miles.

Find a dealer that stocks and sells alot of Corvettes.Hopefully that won't be far from you?Just thinking you would have a better shot of getting a good Corvette Teck.
If a close dealer doesn't sell corvettes then their won't be the right teck their.
Good luck hopefully it is a minor if any fix.
Ohh,How is your Oil Pressure?

Thanks for responding. I'd take a video but I don't know if the audio would be sufficiently sensitive to pick up the sound. I use the word knocking for lack of a better one. I'm going to this place nearby called Corvette World and see if I can get someone knowledgeable to take a ride and listen. I have noticed a tapping sound occasionally. The odometer is about to roll to 11K.

Thank for responding. I'm going to try and swing by a place called Corvette Word and see what they say. As far as I know the oil pressure is normal. That sound is weird. It almost sounds like the noise a big diesel engine makes, scaled down of coarse. I used the word 'knocking' for lack of a better one.

Good luck finding out the source of the noise and if needed, getting it repaired.

The sounds of direct injection are often described as similar to the sounds of a diesel engine.
