Looking to buy a Grand Sport

I agree that 2LT is the sweet spot. I wanted things like HUD and the other goodies that come with the 2LT package.
I'm going to buck the trend here and recommend used, although my math was calculated 4 months ago, so I don't know what the current market conditions are like. I wanted somebody else to take the depreciation, so I paid close attention to when the car was registered so I could determine how much of the bumper-to-bumper warranty was left. I also bought a Certified Pre-Owned, which added more warranty, giving me 26 months of B2B coverage on my 2018. The car had 6,000 miles of California driving, so I determined that the likelihood of thrashing was low. As it turned out, the car was in mint condition and nearly 4,000 miles later, she's running perfectly. I didn't qualify for the $3k discount at the time (didn't have a vette) so the best new price I could find was just under $65k. I purchased this used 2018 for $55,500.
Yes, there are going to be a few dirt bags out there who have driven the car like they stole it, however, most people treat the C7 with crazy respect, and I suspect your risks are low.
As a member of the cracked wheel club, that risk is real. Why not save $7-10k on the purchase price, in case the wheel issue hits.
You are right to love the GS. I love the wide body.

how did the crack wheel happen ?
you didn’t hit anything? It’s strange to think wheel can crack without any hard impact.
this is my red ZO6 with Z07 performance package.

Again, buy a GS if you want one... but don't think that avoiding potholes will guarantee that it won't happen to you. Somebody recently reported BRAND NEW replacement wheels out of the box already had bends that were only noticeable when the wheel runout was measured. True any car CAN bend or crack a wheel, but it seems there are some quality control issues with the cast wheels on widebody C7s that are allowing this to happen with greater frequency than most would find acceptable.

Don't let the bent/cracked wheel stories scare you off. I have 8100 miles on my 2019 GS, have neither, and have hit some rough pavement joints in KY, TN, NC, GA and FL. There were scary stories about the C6Z LS7 heads and valve guides too. Scared I was for 10 years with my 2008 Z06 but I drove it 64,400 miles before trading for my GS. Yes, I had the valves checked at 30,000 miles before driving across country. The guy who bought this fine Corvette had the valves refreshed and the shop that did the work informed him the original values and guides were okay. Just goes to show we need not live with these cars in fear. If something fails, we deal with it. Probably a higher percentage nothing bad will go wrong. Enjoy your wonderful new Corvette for what it is!

absolutely agree,
If they bend, I’ll just buy forgeline or HRE wheels.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned it. Instead of new or used, how about CPO used with 2LT, especially if it's a low mileage car. I have a 2LT Z51 and really enjoy the additional toys. The GM certified cars add 12K and 1 year to the remaining new car warranty. A low mileage car assures you that any "beating" the car took was minimal. Most Corvettes are not beat on to any great degree anyway unless they've been relentlessly tracked which you should be able to see. Yes, you would not get the Ron Fellows school. However you should be able to save thousands. Also, if you decide to consider a CPO car or a used C7, be sure to ask to see the GM Global Warranty Record report so you can determine if the car was problematic. With all the computer generated documents today, there's very little risk, especially buying a CPO car.
There was one post before that did include important information about the new transmission fluid. The new fluid was introduced early in 2019. However, most 2019 models were manufactured in 2018, before the fluid was available. So even if you buy new, determine when it was manufactured to determine if that Corvette has the new fluid. If it doesn't inquire about the triple flush before you buy.
Hope all this helps you reach a decision.

Like others have said, there are plenty of GS's and Z06's without cracked or bent wheels, so its not a guarantee.

Keep an eye on the used market. Many 18-19's will be traded in starting this week as the C8's are rolling into the dealers.
New and used car interest rates should not be that different these days, but I can't swear to it as I don't finance cars.
Your ultra best deal is buying from a NON-Chevy dealer CASH slightly used. You will probably save yourself 10k even with the best new discounts.
It just takes patience and time shopping for the perfect car and deal.
I just bought a 19 GS 2LT loaded, two tops, M7 with all updated stage 2 spoilers and ground effects + 4500 in ceramics and protection for 53900 cash w/ 950 miles on her only 5 months new and clear car fax and inspections. MSRP was 78980.00 from a BMW dealer who took it in on trade for a SUV due to a growing family 1k miles from where I live.
BMW dealers DON't want vetts on their lots!
The deals are there if you shop it !

I will say this, the car is very low in front, and I have come to love the front cameras. It is a rare thing for me to park the car without checking the front cameras, because I've been hard on my splitter when I don't do this. I could also just be a careless doofus.
