trying to figure out my 2019 stingray, have most of it figured out except the front cameras. the cameras work but dont come on automatic when pulling into parking spot i believe they did when i got it so dont know if i messed something up while playing. thanks in advance buy the way loving this winter in ct. this year clean roads no salt warm temps. it a great combination for driving my new baby.
Don't you have to do reverse then drive to get the camera to come on? I don't have the OEM configuration but I think the car needs to think you're parallel parking. Otherwise, you need to hit the camaera icon on the NAV screen.

The front cameras don't come on when pulling into a parking spot. The system cannot differentiate between when you are pulling into a parking spot or pulling up on a stop light. And you wouldn't want the front cameras coming on every time you come to a stop light!
They do come on IFF you were previously in reverse and are going less than 10 MPH. If you want the front cameras to come on without first backing up then hit the camera icon on the big screen.

Bottom line, slow speed reverse and then drive or 1st to get it to come on. 9 MPH and it shuts off.

Elmer, I was just pointing out that this feature is useful for parking in general (like parking straight into a parking spot in a parking lot after say backup up or forcefully turning on the front cameras) and not only for *parallel parking*. (I rarely have the need to parallel park anyway). As said then there no need to say parallel parking rather in just about all parking situations, hence drop the word parallel.

The question in the OP was automatically come on when parking. If I park by pulling in to a 45° space, the camera will not automatically come on. I would have to manually turn the camera on. If I were doing the manipulations to parallel park, the camera would automatically turn on.

I never said the cameras would turn on automatically so I don't know why you're regurgitating that back to me. In fact, I said as much. Check my first post to the OP.
When I pull forward into a parking place I often back up for a brief amount then go forward again. The front cameras go on and I use that to align myself given the lines painted on the ground. Parking is not only about pulling in close in the front and not scraping the bottom, but it's also about placing the car between the lines so as to reduce the possibility of banging your door with the car next door and leaving enough room for the other cars to not bang their doors against your car. This is a common thing for me to do as at my apartment I have only covered parking. And on the passenger's side there's a support beam for the covered parking so I want to get as close to that as possible without hitting it so the back-up-a-little and pull forward to use the front cameras and painted lines. It is something I'm always doing. I would hardly call that "parallel parking".
The easiest thing to do is stop, put the car in reverse (you don’t have to move backward), and then immediately put it into drive. The front camera turns on. That said, GM should include a sensor that automatically detects when the front end is near an object.
To make it easy to turn on your front cameras, move the camera icon from the middle of the Home display to the top of the display where you can store multiple icons. When you want to turn on the front cameras you touch the top of the display on any screen which displays the upper icons and then touch the camera icon. The front camera will only come on if moving slower than 5 MPH.
I keep the camera icon in the upper right corner so to turn on the cameras I touch the upper right corner twice.
That doesn't work as well if you run Android Auto as you have to first hit the Home button then the camera icon, but I do that if I don't need to backup when parking straight on. Often I sorta lazily head into a parking space with the thought that I'm gonna probably hit reverse then forward again to make sure I'm parallel to the white lines of the parking spot. If, however, I come in straight I'll hit Home then the camera icon.
