For those who have owned a base C6 and a C7 Stingray non Z51, does the C7 Stingray have more ground clearance particularly at the front lower difuser?
Which is better as a daily driver, base C6 or a base non Z51 C7?
…....the C7 is better as a daily driver (though all my Vettes have been manuals so transmissions); feels smaller and tighter......clearance concerns, about the same
I dont think anyone answered your question. You were asking about the ground "clearance" compared from a C6 to a C7... If you look at both of my Vettes - you will see the clearance is almost exactly the same.
Agreed on c7 being preferable for daily driver duty, though 18/19" wheels and tires would be a better bet than the optional 19/20" - If you encounter rough roads during you commute. Tires would be less expensive in 18/19" sizes too.
While the c6 is more engaging to drive (IMO), for daily driver duty the lower NVH c7 is a better choice.

The base C7 comes with three air defectors on the front to improve gas mileage. Those are the only things that rub on the base C7. If ground clearance is a concern just take those off. The base C7 is a much better car than the base C6.

I can only comment on a C5 which I drove for 15 years and the 2019 C7 I have now...both base models, both manual. The C5 was light years ahead of my lovely but very primitive C3, but the C7 just blows it away. The C6 was kind of an evolutionary model to the C5, but my opinion is that the C7 was revolutionary in comparison.
Also for your ground clearance question, the vehicle height can be raised, as well as lowered via a spring adjustment.
^^^^ THIS
I drove two nearly identical C7s to my house. The first bottomed out badly when I tried to get up the driveway, the nose actually hit the concrete and the air dam scraped significantly. I was concerned that moving up from a C5 was going to be an issue then I drove the second car. It went right in with only a slight touch of the air dam on the concrete, the nose cleared easily. So the answer to your question about clearance depends largely on how you set up the car. I'm pretty sure the C6 can be lowered or raised on the stock bolts as well.
I found that my base '18 St'ray "settled" enough within the first 6 months that it now "drags" at places it did not orginally. I've done nothing different (nor put on weight ).
