I would say more like 30 days, but if the car is going to sit for several days no harm in hooking it up to a tender.

There was just a thread on this. I personally wouldn't let it sit more than 2 weeks without a tender. It would probably last a month depending how old the battery is.

Unless we are needing all the luggage space, I leave the "official" optional tender plugged into the socket in the trunk and plug it into the wall any time I won't be driving the car for more than a few days. Normally, you can go several weeks or more without the tender, but I try to keep my battery happy.

I leave the hatch lid ajar for the power cord, the trunk light times out after a few minutes.
Others leave the tender outside the car and close the trunk lid on the smaller wires to the lighter plug, weatherstrip has no problem with that.

2 weeks is about as far as I would go... when a battery sits for many days.. sulfation crystals form in the battery. these crystals reduce the batteries ability to hold a charge . these crystals are the number one reason a battery will fail prematurely... a battery tender with a Desulfation cycle is the right one to buy.. those 20 dollar cheap tenders do not offer this type of necessary function.. a good quality battery can realistically last 6 to 8 years when properly maintained.

I leave mine on both cars unless I know I'll be driving one within a day or two. Real cheap insurance!

My 2013 GS bought new and still had the original battery in it when I traded it in 7 years later. Never seen a battery tender in it's life and used to go sometimes 4 weeks in the dead of winter in NY and it started right up. All these doom and gloom battery tender threads are ridiculous.

I leave my car on a battery tender all the time when it is not being driven. Doesn't harm anything and you know you will have a fully charged battery when you want to go for a drive.

Until your car doesn't start.

My C6... original battery went 6-7 years, I didn't replace it until right before I sold it.

Let the C7 sit for a while once (would guess +/- a month... 4V on the battery, dead as a doornail. Car is a 2019.
Cheap insurance.

A charged battery is a happy and healthy battery. That's not to say that at some point, the battery will need to be replaced. Up to 2 weeks is as long as I would let it sit without a battery tender hooked up.

I look at it this way, if you've got the battery tender, why not use it? It takes a short amount of time to hook it up and can definitely prolong the life of your battery. I don't bother using it in the warm months when the car gets driven almost every day, but during the colder months when I know I won't be driving it that often, I always hook it up.

Does the actual tender come with the car? If so where would I find it? 2019 sr with battery protection package.

Hi folks, so from what I have been reading you CAN hook up a trickle charger through the cigarette lighter port on the rear trunk area on C7 Corvettes correct ?

That is correct, that spot is actually the only lighter port that will stay active when the car is off. If you try to hook it up to the one up front that one will power down ten minutes after you close the doors.

It should have come in a white rectangular box. It may be in the hatch cubby hole on the left side. You should definitely have it.

I leave mine on a tender anytime not being driven. Takes all of 30 sec.to hook up and unhook, why not do it.
