New owner! And a (major?) problem
Now the bad news, I bought it Saturday night about 130 miles from where I live. I didn't get home until midnight, still excited but exhausted. Sunday I decided to take it for a good spirited run with the top off. I started noticing that it was idling really rough, almost want to go dead, and with the top off and radio off, my wife pointed out a slight clicking/tapping sound. Kept driving, then I get a CEL, check rear axle, check stabilitrak. Contacted onstar to run a quick diagnostic, and they tell me it's having an emissions issue. I go by Autozone and they run the codes, comes back as a misfire on cylinder #5. I change out the sparkplug, but no difference. I took it to my local dealer this morning and drop it off. They keep it all day, finally got a call at 5:58 saying they don't know what's wrong, and will have to keep it a few more days. He said they swapped ignition coils, plug wires, and a few other things and no change in codes, so they think it's internal. It's got 59,400 miles, so I'm barely under warranty.
I guess I just need some cheering up, I was hoping it was nothing more than a bad fuel injector or something external. The thought of them having to tear down the engine scares me. Anyway, to a pic to prove it happened...

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I guess I'd better read my owner's manual (I have a 2017 Z06 with only 6,600 miles). Maybe I've got more coverage than I thought (I assumed 3 years/36,000 miles). Never really checked (hadn't needed to).
Regardless, as others have said, that's one good-looking Corvette!
It's not the first time that I had a major warranty issue happen right before the warranty expired. Fortunately, I've never had one come up afterwards.
The service agent told me that they've swapped several things, but it's looking internal. My thought is that it can't be too bad, because it runs spectacular above idle, and has full power. I think it's a lifter, maybe a broken or weak valve spring or something on top of the engine in the head. That tapping sound is rather constant, and it doesn't seem to speed up as the engine revs, which is weird to me.... Hopefully I'll get it back today or sometime this week.
