I just purchase a 2017 GS. One question: if my GS rims bend, break or whatever can I replace with z06 wheels? Or do they have the same problems. I keep hearing about GS wheels but not about z06 wheels.
Yes Z06 wheels will bolt right up. They're also a pain in the butt to clean compared to the GS wheels. I have 15K miles on my Z07 and the rims are still true but others have had issues. Good news is that there are always extra sets on Craigslist or the classifieds here should you have a problem.
Also keep in mind that very few would post a "My Wheels Are Not Cracked" thread. That all said, my posts will probably change should I crack a wheel
Yes the Z06 wheels have the same issues, I just had 3 straighten on my Z. I bought a spare set of wheels when they were reality cheap early on, or in the end get a set of forged, but you still need to avoid the pot holes, even a forged wheel will bend. Just consider the wheel issue the Corvette tax.

Unfortunately, yes, some Z06 owners have reported bent/cracked wheels just like the GS owners have. If you end up having the problem, I would recommend going with some nice forged wheels.

Get a good quality brush and it makes it so much easier vs. using a mitt.
When it's time to replace your tires, go with a non run flat. That'll all but stop the bent/cracked wheel problem. Stiff inner side wall of the run flats and a 25 series tire both are the causes of the problems.

Yup and a tow truck when you get a flat.Or just finish off that POS GM Rim
On my list of things to do is a "My Wheels Are Not Cracked, yet...." post.
There have been a few unscientific polls.
Just had my third spring oil change where I was just waiting to hear that they found a cracked wheel. Didn't have one.
Prior to buying my Z used I had it inspected and it did have a cracked wheel. Dealer put on a new one.
Have hit some unavoidable potholes over the years too.
I suspect I have a bent rim. The mag ride is good at masking subtle stuff but at 100mph+, there is a distinct weak vibration where my old c6 z51 was butter smooth with no mag ride. It is weak enough to just cause me un ease. On inspection by touch on my rims, 1 has some definite inconsistency to its roundness based on feel but can't say it is or isn't bent. I circled the area and will check it over the season if a crack forms.

Cracks usually appear on the inside lip of the wheel. Furthest point away from spokes (support).
Just for a frame of reference. My son's Z06 has never had run flats on his car. He immediately switch out before actually driving it. I drove the car 175 miles up to Vegas and ended up with two cracked rims. Not cracked before I left on the ride. Don't remember running over any pot holes. The car was equipped with stock OEM wheels. This happened before any Magnetic Suspension Ride Control update was applied. I drove in tour mode all the way.
As others have said, yes, it will be the same, since the specs of a GS wheel and a Z06 wheel are the same. You have a very wide wheel, with most of the wheel cantilevered away from the support (spokes). Couple that with very low profile tires what act as very stiff springs... That combination generates large bending moments, (not only at the contact point, but also 180 degrees away from the contact point), resulting in fatigue failures... (engineering speak for cracked wheels.)
So.. What's a guy to do?
Buy better, stronger wheels. I'd suggest something in the fully forged area. (not rotary flow forged, or some other marketing term that doesn't really mean it's stronger).
