Default Spring Mountain

Just finished up with my second visit to Spring Mountain. It had been 3 years since my last visit and a lot of it came back to me quickly on the track. As much fun as it was the first time it was even better this time. A little cool and windy on Monday but it didn’t bother us and Tuesday was perfect. Ron Fellows walked into our classroom on Monday and we asked about taking a look at the C8’s as we were told that the RON Fellows Driving School did not own any yet and they belonged to GM and were being used for Chevy dealers and media people. On Tuesday at lunch RON came in and announced the he had 3 outside the clubhouse to take a look at, sit in, but not drive or ride in. Beautiful car, Ron and Rick Malone (director of The driving school) both highly praised the C8. The convertible was red and beautiful. I highly recommend Spring Mountain Raceway and Ron Fellows Driving School and their staff.

It would be a great place to try out a C8 if Spring Mountain decides to make it an open class. I know the ZR1 class is exclusive to ZR1 owners.

Having had a C7 Z06/07 and raced one at Spring Mountain, it would be great to jump in a C8 and feel the difference.

I've done Owner's School at Spring Mountain 2 times, in C6 GS M6, and C7 ZO6 M7, and Level 2 class. I plan on doing the C8 class within the next year or so, before I decide if I want a C8, but it won't be until they come out with the C8 ZO6 or ZR1 versions. Right now I'm really loving my C7 ZO6/ZO7 7M, so no hurry on the C8. I went to the preview of the C8 at my dealer, thinking I wouldn't like it, but I think they did a great job on the car. I'm disappointed there's no manual trans option, but I'll keep an open mind until I actually drive one.

I was there last week for COS. They were hosting dealer’s training on the C8. I estimate they’ve got 25 or so C8s on site. You could look but not touch. FWIW - they said they have (own) 156 C7s at the school. Amazing place!
