Got in the car, hatch opened as soon as my butt hit the seat, car wouldn't crank.Closed the hatch, same thing happened. Did 4 times same thing.I know some people complain their leg hits the switch, not it. Closed hatch then started with fob remote and it started. Worked normal after that. 2014 Stingray 2lt, new car battery last year and new fob battery, any idea?
Is it possible that something else in your pocket pushed the hatch button on the fob? I've occasionally set off one of the car alarms when I have a fob in my pocket.
Have had this happen many times..getting into car and the rear hatch pops. I think it is due to the fact that I have two fobs and two regular keys on one “key chain”. A couple of months ago I got one of those neoprene fob covers and it has significantly cut down on the frequency.

Did you get any messages on the DIC when you tried to start the car (besides "trunk open")?
