I would like some input on thoughts about a front spliter for my 2016 stingray. Iam looking for one that i can use factory holes ,no drilling. A glossy black color , that I dont have to worry about dragging on speed bumps. Also will I need to remove the lower rubber protector that runs across that hits curbs first. Before mounting an o.e.m. z51 or z06 style spliter. Thanks!

I installed a C7 Carbon GTX Splitter. It uses existing holes to mount. However some holes needed a little filing. Any aftermarket may need this but not an issue. I took off the outer rubber deflectors for install then put them back on. This splitter has cleared all speed bumps so far. As for a splitter that won't hit anything going over bumps is impossible. You just need to be aware and act accordingly.
Just get a factory poverty splitter and be done with it. Durable, looks good, and no need to remove a thing. You will have to take out the two outer screws from the rubber “protector” as you called it to get the splitter installed, but it should only take you 30 min or less to get the entire job done. It has a finish on it similar to the rubber protector.......not gloss.
Start with this and upgrade later on if you like the look and can keep from breaking it. BTW, no filing and all holes lined-up perfectly.

I installed the factory poverty splitter on my ‘14 - easy install but I did use some rivets to help secure the splitter in addition to some factory screws. Yes, some drilling was required for the rivets.
Splitters on a street car are a dis[posable item. Chances are you are going to break one. its better to break an inexpensive one then a costly one.. you can get a GM poverty splitter from a GM dealer for less than 150 dollars. If you break it ( you are not out much money and it becomes a learning experience. ) if you buy a 900 dollar Carbon fiber splitter, and break it, you are out 900 dollars. the cheaper poverty splitter will take more of an impact and survive then any Carbon fiber splitter.
You have to always me conscious of the fact that its there. no matter when flavor you buy. My first splitter lasted one week...a total mis judgment on my part.. it was a learning experience.. I bought another one and its still on there 6 months now.
I did not buy a poverty splitter, because I did not like the look.. I bought a 330 dollar Carbon flash painted ABS splitter from EOS. I bought the same splitter a week later from EOS
EOS carbon flash splitter and the one I fixed after a curb came out and hit me.
