Default Hidden radar detector?

Was looking at a couple of the valentines for sale here and was wondering if there are any other options where you can conceal a radar detector? I literally know nothing about radar detectors but was reading a bit and sounds like there might be a few good concealable options.

anyone have a good recommendation

You're looking at a grand or more for a concealed detector.

I've been using Valentines and their "concealed" display for 20 years. The system works well, but the display module isn't really concealed, it's just small and inconspicuous. I've always kept mine stuck on top of the steering column with mounting tape, just below the speedometer. I'm satisfied.

The real problem is that the main Valentine unit isn't concealed, it has to be someplace with an electronically clear view ahead and at least some view to the rear.
On the C6, I was able to mount it into the plastic trim piece at the top of the windshield and it was very hard to spot, haven't been able to duplicate that on the C7 and so it's just hanging from the mirror in a Blendmount.
Hoping to find a better place soon.

Yes. I forgot the technical term but something like “pop through”. Along the lines of at some point if you keep on the gas (mph) you will get nailed.
The Waze app is what I use now for reassurance and works great. More Wazers the better 👍🏻

Have the Escort Max CI 360 with front and rear laser shifting. I love it. We have lasers camera setups here and it has saved me many a ticket. Nice small display built in to the top of the steering column and controls on the side of column.

Might want to look at ALP as well. You can get a concealed radar detector and laser jammer combo. I have it on mine and it works great. I went with the NetRadar unit and alp laser jammers.

If you don’t have a detector and have been getting by fine without one wait. Watch for Theia to come out later this year. It’s going to change the detector world as we’ve known it.

Just don't let a radar/laser detector give you a false sense of security. Some states - especially Pennsylvania - use VASCAR. It doesn't transmit any signal at all that can be 'detected' and the officer will be able to measure your speed between two fixed points without you even knowing it. VASCAR is sometimes utilized from aircraft as well.

Whatever you drive and wherever you go.............be safe!!

P.S. WAZE is a terrific app and does a great job of warning you about speed traps on major highways.

This. If I were another manufacturer I would be extremely concerned. Theia is like when the first Iphone came out. Industry changing.

A good review of concealed radar detectors can be viewed here:

However, as previously stated, Radenso's Theia, if it lives up to the PR, will be a game changer. The same YouTuber has a series of videos on the Theia.

For me, I got a 43% false-positive rate - Android Auto with Google Maps (GM) vs Android Auto with Waze

Radar will bounce all over your car outside and inside, so you can place it behind your seat. I will send a picture of my setup later. The gate guards get butt hurt if you have a radar detector on Air Force installations so I conceal it and its also not on my leather dash to include no wires, its a win win.

Now if you plan on driving 100+ MPH on the highway position it to the front of your car for optimal performance, every second counts!

For best results

I've tested other detectors and had them work pretty well mounted inside the car, but the Valentine arrows require reasonably good signals from both directions or the arrows get confused.

If you've found a way to hide the Valentine inside, I'm all ears.

Check out Whistler Pro360. I located receiver in sidedriver brake air intake. Display is above mirror on windshield header. Sound control is on side of consule by drivers knee. Many neet features. Not expensive. Works as well as my two previous Escort remote systems at a fraction of the cost.
