Default Squeaking top fix kit?

I've got a '15 Z with the crackling squeaking top. I've added o rings to the front pins, lubed the pins and weatherstripping and tightened the rear latch. I know there is a TSB and fix. The dealer wants big $. Is there an aftermarket kit with the newer pins?

Needs the new latches. Since I had had five previous Corvettes I tried all the usual fixes and that didn't work, took it to my dealer who fixed it under warranty.

Am aware of the locating pin fix for squeak/rattles in the early C7s but haven't heard about a latch kit for late model cars... Can you post more information about them?
TIA

All I've seen from GM has been replacement of the early pins and strikers.

Do you have the replacement white plastic pins or the earlier black?

That's right. I was able to get a dealer to give me the parts to replace my own pins and strikers (so long as I gave the old back). Pretty straightforward swap out.

not even a warranty issue. There is a TSB for the roof. I think TSBs last forever. (correct me if I'm wrong). So, if you're out of warranty...it shouldn't matter.

I have a '15. Bought it in 16 gently used. Roof was fixed through the TSB, not a warranty claim. It's been perfect since...40,000 miles since that repair.

MY '15's latches were replaced as well as the pins.... under warranty. Perhaps a TSB came out after that, but mine was indeed fixed under warranty.

Had the pin TSB done on my ‘15 under warranty. Still pops and cracks. Extra o-rings and dielectric grease had no effect either.

I have the old style pins so I assume old style striker. If you all have later models with the same issue, I guess that means that this fix may or may not work. I know there's lots of threads on this but I was hoping there was an aftermarket kit for these parts. I'm taking the vette to the dealer this weekend for other things and will see how much the parts are. IIRC, when I asked about them doing the fix prior, it was north of $300.

Thanks for the TSB. It may be open but it's going to cost $

When we got the wife's 2015 Z51 it was squeak free, about 2 weeks later I took the top out and after putting it back in it had an annoying squeak with virtually every bump in the road. I used this off Amazon on all the seals including door seals and it hasn't made noise since. 303 rubber protectant.

Interesting that some of the repairs still squeak.

Somewhere on this forum is a copy of the TSB for that.

My car was still under warranty at the time of the repair....but done under the TSB.

Mayne somw techs did the repairs differently.

According to the TSB the pin fix was for the '14-'15 models and IIRC it was incorporated as an OEM installation on later MYs so I'd not expect that issue with my '19, but the squeak and creak are definitely present, and since the noise sounds like it is emanating from the roof's rear edge near the pax and driver windows the pins are likely not involved?...

My understanding of TSB's is that they indeed "last" forever, but do not establish that GM will pay for the repairs.
If the car is under warranty, then that shouldn't be an issue. If it's out of warranty and the TSB doesn't say anything about being covered by GM, some dealers will cover minor repairs as a Customer Satisfaction issue, but are not required to do so.

Ahhhh...interesting. I was assuming (terrible strategy) that a TSB lived somewhere between a Factory Recall and Warranty.

A TSB is a Technical Service Bulletin that tells GM mechanics how to resolve various Customer complaints or how to process paperwork. They are basically providing lessons learned for mechanics that may not have encountered a problem before.

My 15Z had a scritching noise that I swore was being made by the top when I drove it off the showroom floor. However, after several trips to the dealer and two mechanics taking it out for a ride the noise was found to be coming from the passenger side interior quarter panel that fits around the side window. It had to be removed and some isolating strips put in place so it didn't rub against the window.

I've owned several Corvettes and all have had popping and squeaking tops. I know this will sound odd, but I decided when I picked up my new 2017 C7 Z51 that I would pretend it is a fixed roof and have never removed the top, ever. It has been quiet as a mouse and has no popping or squeaking at all. Many of you will think it's crazy, but I don't mind it at all. The popping drove me nuts on prior cars.

So if buying the parts from gmpartdirect.com of the updated striker and pins come to $200.

Is the consensus that this is worth it? My '15 squeaks when going over bumps. I don't really care all that much.

I take the roof off any chance I get. Haven't tried fixing this issue with O-rings or lube or anything yet.
