Default Spark plug

I had a bad plug on my c7 2017 corvette stingray...it was after 3 years but the powertrain warrenty was in effect...I read what was covered but saw just about everything but a mention on spark plugs...only had 10,000 miles on mine...was charged $100 to replace and diagnose...So are the plugs covered? I feel they shoulduld be but???
thanks....

In my opinion spark plugs should be considered a wear item and not replaceable under warranty. And I am pretty sure the GM feels the same way.

You should have a warranty booklet that will shed light on this, rather than a bunch of strangers on the internet.

You also have an emissions warranty...seems like plugs would be in there.

Lol!

I have no idea to the answer for the question, but I doubt it - it's a consumable / wear item, like tires

My thought is spark plugs are a wear item and therefore not covered under a warranty. But I am not the one making the decision on coverage.

A clutch is a wear item. Brakes and windshield wipers are wear items. A bad spark plug at 10k miles is not a wear item but bad manufacturing. That should be covered. If not, I would fight it.

I did mention in a earlier post that ever now and then I get a HUGE puff of black smoke out of the pipes...I am working on getting it on video but it is so random its hard to catch...It happens at different times....sometimes when i start it but mainly while driving....Sometimes it will stay black for maybe 10 sec. then stops...Runs great, idles great...Pipes get extra black and i clean them out...Really weird, the dealer has no idea whats happening..No error message or anything.I try to step on her every now and then up to about 100 mph...Millage is 11,000...No real over fill on oil.... AT least i still have 2 years on the powertrain warranty...
It might have been happening a long time?? I just happen to look out the rear mirror one day and notice it....Bugs me. I have done research on web but no help....Not blue or white smoke ...just solid black....and then its just fine...
