For those that already installed their MGW shifter. The 2nd rubber boot ( dust boot) that cover the nuts, did you put that back or leave it off? Did see on You tube someone stated it was optional but the hole needs to be enlarged. The MGW install video doesn't have it. Not sure exactly what it does other than extra sound deadening?
for those waiting to install a new shifter, one thing missing if you have the upper panel between the seats it needs to be removed to get the console out. Two screws on top and 2 push pins in the back

I did put that extra boot back on, it's a heat and sound deadener and I figure worth the extra added insurance after owning many "loud installs" from the C5/C6 days...
