OK, covid boredom might be setting in, but I am doing my best to keep Amazon afloat. I like my Quickjack, but placing the blocks before lifting is kind of a pain just due to visibility. I found these very little battery LEDs, $10 for a set of 6, on Amazon (
). They attach via tape and have a simple on-off switch to save the battery.
I stuck on on the side of each block. I had hoped to set them on the top, but they are a little too big. Worked great! What I would really like to do is drill a hole thru the center of the rubber block and mount a LED dead-center, but that might be next year.
^^^ I was surprised how bright they were. Not sure they could light up a closet like it shows in the packaging, however. (PS: Next time I might try moving them to the long-side of the rubber block instead of the short end.)
HHHmmmm, I wonder if these "little" button lights throw enough light on the dash sensor so if you start the car in the garage it will keep the headlights from coming on or before you drive your car back into the garage after a drive again keep the hdlts off till you shut off the car.
The auto hdlts come on way too early and I'm trying to find a permanent way around that, if these lights will do the trick temporarily I can keep the lights off while I figure out the proper solution.
^^^ hope you like it! This was just to help align the blocks. Of course you can use a small flashlight instead. I still want to come up with a LED in the center of the block. This would be ideal.
Great idea!
I put the rubber block close, then for final fine tuning make sure the puck hit the back of my four fingers, and the block is centered on the same.
Finally, I go pump the jack up just enough to have the pucks make contact, then do one last check to ensure it is all centered. Always is.
Then up she goes!
If it is just for centering ease, maybe a pocket laser pointer would work. Drill a hole in the center and easy to turn on and off with a rear switch.
Just an idea. Less all around illumination of course.
